I am trying to decide if plaques are worth it. They seem really cool and professional in movies (eg. James Bond type). But they are so expensive. They seem appropriate for casino gambling games like baccarat. But do people use them in their home poker games?

I like plaques for the highest denom, either in a home tourney or cash game. They're fun, people really seem to get a kick out of them.

In cash games I don't start with any plaques, but start using them for rebuys.

Love using them when I can. My only issue is that I can't get enough of them!! They really do make a statement, especially when they're the 'big chip' of the tourney. People just love the satisfying THUD of tossing a plaque into the middle.

Haha! I love these. Very fun. Most plaques make a formal statement. This is the total opposite. Thanks for sharing

Nice set!

Nice presidential set. Feels like real money!

Yes, the sound they make is satisfying

ABC/BRPro and Sun-Fly offer several types and sizes of ceramic plaques, and Abiatti, Matsui, and MSK offer various sizes and styes of acrylic plaques. So does GPI/B&G, but they do not sell to the general public. CPC's ceramic plaques are made by Sun-Fly.

I use plaques for Baccarat and Craps...I would think they could be used in Poker also! They are outstanding to use!

I'm researching plaques right now to use for Baccarat. Naturally I'd use them for Poker, too, if the opportunity arises. I don't know how I feel about the ceramic ones; I'm a big fan of the fancy European marbled style. I've come this close to buying the Casino Royale replica ones many times. But, yeah, they're fairly pricey.
