I’m thinking of getting a limit set made up by the same Chinese company that did the scrub donkeys. 2,000 workhorse chips, 200 value chips, some dealer buttons.

I love the PNY chips so have done the same using some landmarks in Glasgow. Let me know what you think (usual abuse expected from the usual candidates   ).

So far I’ve done the inlays... well I had kinda done them until @Irish came to my rescue and improved my efforts!! These look so much better now

2,000 workhorse chips (Finneston Crane on River Clyde)

200 value chips (Duke of Wellington statue with added traffic cones outside modern art gallery).

Dealer button (Glasgow City Chambers viewed from across George Square)

Show ‘em button (Diamond Dolls strip club coz that’s where someone’s gonna show ‘em).

Hi / Lo button (The high being Hogmany on Glasgow Green with the People’s Palace being lit up / the low being Hampden Park where I’ve witnessed the Scottish football team getting a doing over on many an occasion)

Half Kill / Kill (half kill in Gallowgate where criminals where taken to be hung over 100 years ago and kill being the Necropolis where some of the more celebrated Glaswegians ended up).

And even though a bounty chip isn’t something you’d expect in a limit set I thought “why the hell not?”

They look really good. The arial shot is a great idea. If I can think of a reason to add another colour I might do that.
25 : The "Canal" - an artifical waterway that runs between the Mediteranean sea and the atlantic ocean and passes above the main river in Agen
100 : The "Stade Armandie" - the local rugby team stadium
500 : The Cathedral of Sainte Foy - origin of the worldwide cult of Sainte Foy (Santa Fé)
1000 : The state hall
5000 : Garonne, the city's river

Nice, but here are my 2c:
Any other landmark/monument instead of the crane?:)
The crane is a major landmark here as Glasgow became a city on the back of shipbuilding (and tobacco and slavery but we don’t talk about that).

Done a few more.

Show ‘em based on a notorious strip club “Diamond Dolls” coz that’s where you’re gonna see ‘em.

Hi / Lo based on New Year celebrations and the Lo is obvious for anyone who’s every seen the Scottish national team play football.

Finally Half Kill / Kill based on the Tollbooth were criminals were sent before being executed and the necropolis where they ended up (and where the latest Batman film was filming before lockdown).

Great idea and I really like the photos you've picked so!

What I really like about the PNY chips is how the design really focuses on the landmark picture. The casino name and location are low key and small around the edge, but not over the photo so it's easy to read. The denomination is placed such that it's a little larger and easy to read but doesn't obscure the landmark at all:

The text design you have here is huge and covers a good portion of the photo. It's skinny enough that you can still make the photos out, but IMHO draws more attention to the card room name than the landmarks. It doesn't look bad but some of the text is a bit tough to read even at the large scale, I'd be concerned when you shrink them down to a chip size a lot of the text either be eligible or get lost in the photo.

Just my 2¢ worth.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah I did larger text because they’re non-denoms. And also I don’t know how to make the text go round the edge, which would be much better. :ROFLMAO:
Need to go figure out how to do that now!!

That Hi and Half Kill  :D :cool

I think if you concentrate on the Parris Glascow text, make the font itself a little thicker but the black outline thinner, that would help distinguish it from the image.

This design reminds me a lot of the Vier Jahreswzeiten chips:

Fonts amended @Irish
Let me know what you think.

Yep I personally think this is a much cleaner design in comparison, a lot easier to read and now I can see more details on the landmark pics (I didn't notice the cones before lol ):

And I think you could probably add some of the detailed text around the perimeter of the chip if you wanted. PNY style:

That’s exactly what I want but no idea how to do that. What software are you using? I’m just doing this on my iPhone

Inkscape, free to download and use.

Out of all of these sites, I think we only saw the Necropolis during our trip. Can't believe we missed the crane! We'll have to come back!

Don’t tell me you missed the Duke and his traffic cone hat as well...
That’s the necropolis where Batman and Catwoman hang out  :ROFLMAO:
