I was wondering if it is there sort of a consensus on what brand model and size of cards most people here in pcf like to play. I am new to the forum, so please enlighten me. Or just tell your preference.., thanks!

Btw...I have Kem poker size

I think the consensus is Desjgn, sold by the PCF vendor @desjgn. Those are my favorites too, but I can only really compare with copag.

For games with more than 2 cards, like for example Omaha, bridge size are more practical. For holdem there is no consensus here, although I prefer poker size. There's no consensus on regular vs jumbo index either, although I prefer the latter.

I appreciate the input; I will start looking into some of these; new journey is even more fun

Bridge (since most games I host use more than 2 cards).

Jumbo index (since some of my regs can't see them across the length of the table).

Desjgn are great.
Bicycle Prestige are good for the price.
KEMs are good if you can prevent the warping issues.
Modianos are great but haven't bought a new set up of them in a while.
Copags I always found too slippery, but decent for the cheaper price.
Fournier I always heard good things but I've never owned any.

There’s definitely no consensus on brand or size or index.
I think you’ll find that bridge jumbo are more popular than anything else, but there are more than enough fans of poker sized cards (which aren’t actually used for poker in any casino I’ve ever played in) and standard size indexes that there will never be anything close to a consensus.
As far as manufacturers, again, no. And something to keep in mind is that many (most?) manufactures offer cards on multiple, different stocks. So merely shouting out a brand name isn’t always helpful.
Just buy some cards and see what you like.

Always:
Bridge size/Jumbo index

Do's (best feel & handling/shuffling):
Desjgn
Fournier
Piatnik
Angel

Don't (due to quality issues or just shitty companies):
KEM (warp factor 100)
Copaq (cheap price/cheap cards)
Modiano (usually makes a good card, especially older stock, but are a POS company that you shouldn't support)
Royals (only buy if you want cards you can see through)

Only buy if you have a dedicated shuffling machine:
Faded Spades (durable but will wear your ass out hand shuffling these thick cards)

Anything else is up for debate.

At the moment I can't get enough of the Angel cards (bridge jumbo). Otherwise it's normally a rotation of Piatnik (poker regular) and various Designs.

Pretty accurate and conclusive, although I'd add Bicycle Prestige to the Do list (if you can find bridge/jumbos).

+1 for bicycle prestige being a decent card.

My personal favorites so far are angel and desjgn.

Never tried piatnik or Fournier though, so those are on my list to try next.

My least favourite so far have been A plus.

While I personally agree with those saying Fournier and Desjgn, I believe the thread I am linking below has taken Jokers from each brand and PCFers pass them around to sample. Maybe give that a shot if you need to test out some different brands.

Af far as the Kem talk goes, I’ll say this. Casino KEMs (specifically the Cleveland Horseshoe and the Binions) are the best cards I’ve ever handled, without a doubt. But the Boeing issues are real. And I’m not spending $25+ per setup for cards that will bow and make me angry.
BTW, funny side note. I remember playing in a casino with cards that were pretty seriously bowed (not sure if they were KEM or something else.) While waiting for my action, I’d absentmindedly bend the cards against the bow. A guy nearby told me I was actually flashing my cards while doing that bend. I felt like I’d been doing it for hours and wondered how many people had been watching, before somebody said something.

You are going to get alot of opinions on here.

I learned to ignore them ALL. Buy what you think you want. Try them all. Buy a setup of anything. I started out with COPAG and Bicycle, and now wouldn't use them even if they were my only cards left. To each their own. I don't like Bridge size for Hold Em. Maybe for Omaha, sure, but my group prefers the poker size.

I've got many cards. I like multiple brands. Faded Spades are cool, and I've got some KEMs and they suck.

If a person uses Poker size, it's not incorrect or wrong because the whole place says use Bridge.

Beware that there are two (at least?) versions. I managed to buy the crappy one :-(
Which ones are crappy?
I’ve used the cheap bridge sized ones that came with no boxes and those are great. And I’ve used the poker sized Walgreens-special ones and those are great.

Picked up some Bicycle Prestige (poker size, standard index). Impressed so far and the price was right. Get one of each color so you can have the BB shuffle while the dealer deals, get more hands in!

Bicycle Prestige seem to be a solid value deck.

Said this dozens of times. Store Kems upside down with a cut card on top and maybe a dealer button and they will stay flat. I have 7-8 Kem setups that have stayed perfectly flat ranging from 3-15 years like this. Kems are hands down the best feeling card and I’ve literally tried virtually ever made. So it’s worth the effort for me. Kems aren’t the only cards that warp. All acetate cards will do this and my very expensive Gemaco Superflex warped.

Kems are still the overwhelming card of choice in casinos but the company insists their consumer cards are identical to their casino cards.

I love Desjgn. Absolutely beautiful and I like to support this brand. Cartamundi CCPs are the best bang for the buck.

Of all the cards I’ve played the only one I’ve found to be completely unplayable are Faded Spade. They are ridiculously stiff and the company seemmore interested in marketing than producing a nice product.
