I just wondered how small the minority I feel a part of really is. I’m not a fan of plaques (ducking for cover now LOL.) But it seems like I’m in the minority so thought I’d do a little Friday afternoon poll

So the poll is real simple.

If you like or love plaques vote Yay.

If you don’t like plaques then vote Nay.

I loved the idea of them. They look fantastic and you feel like a baller. My players were pumped for them. But in practice they just weren’t practical and we are so used to eyeballing stacks that we had various incidents of people totally getting confused when betting or calling all-ins when forgetting about the plaques at obviously crucial moments. They didn’t last long in our game.

since theres no option for "how much like" I opted for Yea. I think they have their place but wouldn't want them as a normal part of betting rounds.

Plaques are cool in small amounts. The last denom in a tournament, or as a high value marker in a cash game with lots of rebuys. I don't think I would want more than 10-15 on a table.

I never understood the games I've seen on tv where each player has 30+ plaques, it's ridiculous!

I just got some to try out as top tourney denom. Hoping we like them. They seem fun, but I wouldn't want many of them in play, and I imagine in a cash game nobody would want to bet with them and cause people to tighten up.

Yay with an asterisk. The smaller the better. At the end you will have to handle them, stack them, rake them, etc. One group I play in has them as the top 2 demons. They come late but usually 6-9 handed and you have to deal with them.

That's some great information in this post. I've never actually used any of my plaques, though I have very few now. I always thought they might not be practical. Recently, I've purchased just a few to use in cash games. So my vision would be 1 or 2 players who get a big stack going could use one.

I wonder if they will ever see use. I love the baller appeal also.

Absolutely love them. The players light up when plaques come out!! Even Bries secondary cash PCA set! She has (200) $25 chips and everytime we try to use the chips they players hand them.back and ask for the $20 plaques. I am not joking, chippers and poker players alike absolutely love when they go in play every single time!!

They can be very expensive depending which brand you go with but If I can incorporate them... then we do!!

Loved every plaque I've ever bought. Bring them out for the big tournaments.

They are cool as long as you don’t overuse them. For cash games I think they work well for the high society denomination

Love them, obviously :).
As stated above, probably best suited for tournaments if using more than one denom.
For cash, probably best for the big denom, and not too big of a size. Designing a Casino Royale plaque at the moment for the 43mm Royal cash set.

yay  even if they're rarely involved in a pot, it's been a fun icing-on-the-cake to have them just out on the table with big denom chips :wow: where $100 chip is used for $1, $500 for $5, etc ... you know, the colors you normally don't get to use at a real casino (at least not the homies I hang with!)
