I haven't officially posted my custom ASM set on this forum as I haven't been on the computer much with the new baby, but most of you from CT might remember my set. At some point I'll get around to it....

As I was putting in the order for my commemorative chips with Breich we came up just short of the necessary minimum. As I'm going to be hosting a bachelor party for my brother in April and was planning on doing a casino evening I realized I could use some larger chips for color ups and to up my total bank and so the $500 chip for my cash set was born. My bank previously could support $17,115 and now with 50x$500 added it could be a whopping $32,115 (sick cash game!) which should be enough for our casino night. Note this is J5s work but I had cropped out a non-final mockup so you can see the final product by itself. I'm hoping he's alright with that.... Without further adieu:

Challenge: The new $500 chip I stole from a casino chip that is one of my all time favorites. I'll give the hint that the original is found in a 44mm. Can you figure out which one?

Don't know which casino, but it is a damn fine looking chip!! Hopefully one of these days I will make it back to your game!

Frickin awesome addition to an already sweet set. I absolutely love the color combo here. What is that base color? And please be careful using such beauties for a bachelor party. I had a poker night for my bachelor party and decided instead to pick up a large set of super diamonds just before so I didn't worry as I (and everyone else) was getting sh!tfaced.

Base color is orange. I'm not worried about using them at the party. Mostly family and a few friends as my brother has very few guy friends so not going to be anything insane.

Wow, awesome chip! Are you expecting to get in in play in poker, or "other" casino games? ;)

I figured that at blackjack or craps is where it would be needed since everything will be "play" money. Would love to have it in play at poker, but I might have to raise the stakes of our game by ten fold....

Or just get the east coast contingent to come play...

i've never been too good at the "match the chip" game, but i thought if i actually put my head to it i could figure it out. still, after an evening and a morning, i can't think of any chip that's very close to that. can you narrow it down at all by saying whether the original chip is oversized because it's a higher denom or because it's a baccarat chip?

I'll give another hint since it's not a common because it's a higher denomination chip. The chip appears in this year's calendar.

damn, i should have flipped through the calendar first. here i was on chipguide and google image searching. not sure there's a good pic of this chip on the web. i pulled a screenshot from the calendar page courage had up on shutterfly.

You got it. The "pumpkin" $1,000 chip at the Horseshoe Hammond. Yeah I just did a search on the chip and it is really hard to find pictures online. Even in the horseshoe thread on CT they don't show up. Sad. If I think about it next time I'm there I'll get a picture of one up close.

Here's the best pic I have of the $1K chip, along with some purple $500 pr0n.

Thanks for putting that up! I thought if anyone had pictures of those chips it would be you.

This is a great set I remember from 2+2. Awesome addition.

Best I can do tonight. My brother with a professional camera is coming tomorrow. Hoping to get some new pictures of all of them posted up soon of much better quality and on a better surface.

Sick that you even have these. It's a good night for my rinky dink cash games when I get $500 on the table in total.

Thanks all! I'm super excited about both of these chips, but the one for my son turned out amazing. Even better than I imagined and exactly what I was looking for in a commemorative chip. They match the other $5 perfectly, but have just enough flare with the spots, oversized inlay, and different side + date on the original side to distinguish them from the rest of the pack easily.

Although this is already making me think of another commemorative chip for when I finish my doctorate next month. You think I can make that tax deductible as part of my school expense? I might have a problem....in more ways than one.

Schmen, don't worry those $500's probably won't be used often, if at all, but I needed some larger denoms for my brother's bachelor party that is coming up in April. I think I'm going to be building a blackjack table for it, so on a casino type evening those would be needed.
