Building a casino set to relabel, and wanted some Biloxi Treasure Bay $1s. It wasnt as easy as I hoped, the cage wouldn't sell any chips, so I had to get them from the table games. Pit boss was cool but thought I was nuts. My wife thought I was crazy when I said , "here, open your purse" and dumped a rack into it. :ROFLMAO: Tipped the dealer and walked out. My wife said it felt like we were doing something illegal as we drove away. I had to explain chip harvesting to her. I may slide over to the Palace and see if I can get any quarters. :x

First chip harvest done.

I got a chance last night to sort through the chips. 30 of them were very good, another 30 were acceptable and the remaining 40 were mostly bike tires. So I took those back this morning and cashed then in at the cage then bought another 40 from the tables. Similar breakdown of chip conditions but at least I had a few more good ones than before. If I had a few more days I could probably finally assemble a nice rack.

Nicely done! I went to the Plaza the other day and went to the cage to ask for some chips, the guy who helped me might have been someone a little higher up. I asked for a few chips and then a barrel of $1s, he told me to go to the craps table and ask them. Asked them, got the chips and left. That was my second "harvesting ever", went very smoothly. I also think it helped that it was early afternoon as well and not later into the night when things are busy.

Yes, my conclusion from this my first attempt is that if there arent poker tables (which typically have you buy chips from the cage) then you have to get them from the table games. Do it at a time when they are slow, go talk to the pit boss and ask him/her because the dealers will have to ask permission anyways. The boss will direct you to the table with the excess number of chips to sell. You may have to do multiple pulls at 20 a time or something.

OK, this is just gross. I havent even begun scrubbing the chips yet, all they have done is soak for an hour. I may start wearing gloves when I go to casinos in the future. Thats an obscene amount of "hooker juice"

Its no wonder I have so much trouble chip-riffeling in casinos, they are stuck together with human glue.

wow that's disgusting but they are going to look nice I'm sure

when you refer to buying chips at the table are you talking about exchanging a $5 chip for a stack of 5-$1's from another player? or are you getting these from the dealer?

That bucket above is just gross.....I was always told that money is some of the dirtiest material around. I always took it as a metaphor, more likely it is also literal as well given what is emitting from just poker chips.

Nope, walking up to the pit boss as saying "Id like to buy $100 in $1 chips chips please".

Yeah, I knew chips were dirty, you can see grime on most of them at the tables, but I never expected just a cleaning soak to get like that. The chips are damn sure clean now!

I have asked for $1's at the cage here in Canada.... I was laughed at. The only 1's I ever got were on the table after winning a pot or as change from my blinds.

So, you plan to murder these?
Yes, eventually. I dont have a firm concept yet, and I'm still having the designs for my current tourny chips created. I'm leaning towards something similar to thi design. I like the compass rose emblem.
