Picture of the proofs... (3 Viewers)

Oh, is that what it sounds like?

I posted the pictures and proofs *BEFORE* the order went in looking for critiques, NOT after. It wasn't until after the order was placed that you chimed in. Had I known YOU needed a day or two I would have held off on the order so my chips could get your blessing.

I hate that my chips may not live up to your standards.
Yikes.

You may have misinterpreted Dave's comment. Plus, you were sort of griping that we didn't comment till after you put in the order. We had no idea when you were putting in the order. You should have waited a couple more days and bumped the thread for more input.

Dave may be a little blunt, but he's right in this case (and most other times).

And if I did, that wasn't my intention. I got feedback and changed what needed to be changed and tweaked what needed to be tweaked. The feedback I got was good and I certainly can't wait days on end for the 'right' members everyone to respond on the thread. If I find that the colors aren't working well, I can always go back and alter the artwork with later orders.

I'm grateful for feedback and critiques, both of which I was getting. The 'you should have waited for even *more* feedback, you genius' attitude is a bit much.
response felt a bit condescending.

Yeah, that's EXACTLY what it sounds like. Like I said, rushing to order after just two days with minimal responses is not adequate, and there's no reason to rush things if you want to get them right the first time.

And fuck you and your attitude, sir. Last time I attempt to assist you.

It will be fine. What I've done for mine is rather than solicit feedback from everyone, I kept it limited to just a handful of trusted folks. No matter how great or perfect your design seems, there will always be people who will not like it. At the end of the day, they are your chips.

Geez... where was all the critique 3 days ago?!

"Three days ago" was 17 hours before your first post in the thread, dummy.

The second best-selling book of the last 50 (iirc) years was entitled "How to Make Friends and Influence People." You clearly haven't read it.

And IMO -- no charge -- your inlays suck, with the least important words ("casino" and "dollars") noticeably larger than the words that distinguish the chips, along with a barely visible dollar sign. And that's not to mention that without a coordinating graphic, the attempted "knight" wordplay is completely pointless.

You might as well have hot-stamped dice chips.

I'd make allowances, but you're from Alabama. Figures.

Ah, first fresh meat for the "Ignore" file in the new year. Feels good. :cool

Reading and using are apparently two different things. By antagonizing the OP, the book seems lost on you (assuming you have read it). Please feel free to add me to you ignore list also. I am adding you to mine. Cheers!

Not sure why some people pseudo bashed on the guy for rushing his order. I get that things got a little snarky all around, but do we really need to hassle the guy about how short a time he solicited feedback? If he doesn't know any better, I don't think this was the way to teach him otherwise.

Nobody bashed anybody until he copped an attitude about getting feedback 'too late'. Read the thread.

I did. I even said I realized people got snarky all around. Instead of trying to diffuse the misunderstanding after your "live and learn" comment (which I agree with), you offer him up a nice F-U at the first sign of snark. It just doesn't strike me as the best way to do business with someone newish.

And it wasn't just you.

Dirty stacks just mean that it can be hard to see one out of place $5 chip in a stack in a stack of $25's, or vice versa. For example, the 5 and 25 share the the green color, and red/gold and pink/yellow may be close enough that they can be hard to distinguish in a stack.

Where have I seen that pic before? Hmmmm? :ROFLMAO:

That stack, along with the faces of the chips, should be viewed by anyone creating their own custom chips. I, for one, would have never guessed a stack issue with those chips when looking at the faces.

EDIT: Until educated by the folks here who know what they are talking about

FWIW... a lot of folks spend weeks, and even months, pondering their design before pulling the trigger on a custom order.

With only 3 days between design and payment, that would definitely be considered "rushed" around these parts.

Are these sunflys ?

I don't think so.

A low-priced vendor has been found on Alibaba and has been passed around the forum via PMs.

I think folks are keeping the name/contact-info private so as to not offend some of the long-standing ceramic vendors here. The new Chinese option has very low-priced ceramic chip offerings. And they're kind of hard to beat right now... so long as you don't mind your artwork appearing on publicly made sets sometime down the road.

I hope you don’t mind. I remembered that you had made that post, and you’re pic is a perfect example.
Of course I don't mind. It made a perfect example to the dirty stack discussion.

OP should realize it can be very expensive to fix your mistakes. When I bought my custom CPC's 13 years ago the community didn't have the knowledge it does now and no one realized there would be an issue with dirty stacks. That was an avoidable $500+ mistake which I got fixed last year.

We are glad to learn from your mistake   :ROFLMAO:

@DoubleEagle Went looking for your redone $25 chips. These look great. Congrats!

OP people are just trying to help.

That was fast!

Special thanks to Timinator for creating this! A job well done!

My only critique is that the pink edge spot on the $25 chip is just a little too close to the red of the $5 chip, and the green edge spots on the $5 too close to the body of the $25 chip, which if used frequently together can cause some dirty stack and pot issues.

I'm a fan, otherwise. Very nice! And yes, Tim is awesome to work with!
