As you all know, I am a huge Phantom and James Bond fan. When Casino Royale came out, I also became a poker fan and started playing games with mates - tourneys to start (with, gulp, dice chips).

Soon this gave way to the Casino Royales with 500K plaques. A custom oval table in green velveteen with single piece vinyl padded rail. The upholsterer could have killed me :). Really nice work.

Then I came across Chiptalk and suddenly, the Casino Royales were nice, but not clay. So I got into some Progen 80s (also not clay ), but they had great colours and looked like the Paulson Casino de Isthmus. I stumbled across Hog Wild during a difficult time in his life and the vinyl labels reflected this. They were a little oblong, but the 'Skull Cave' was born.

Later, these became Casino de Bangalla (the hybrid of Casino de Isthmus and the Phantom's home country, also spelt Bengalla).

PGI chips followed, and Phantom's was created (inspired by the Pharaohs), with an add-on of a secondary (25) when the 8V became available. Another add-on saw the 614 'spirit' mold added.

Then shaped Phantom labels were applied (painstakingly) and the set evolved into the last CC set I decided I would buy.

I was in the process of designing the Blades labels and was about to apply the 1000+ labels to the PGIs when I stopped, and realised, that as good as the PGIs had been (stacked beautifully, no height issues or diameter issues at all), I just couldn't face unlabelling, cleaning and re-labelling them one more time.

I love the Phantom and all he stands for, but for me, the CPC set had to be classy. Having read Moonraker for the seventh time, the idea came to me that a Blades set would be my CPC set. The Blades CPC set was born. The rest you know :).

Now, I thought that would be sufficient. That now I had my CPC set and plaques, that I would just leave it at that. Well, let me just say ...

James Bond will return in .......

Despite all the awesome, I have a sneaking suspicion the best is yet to come...

Those Bangalla cc's seem like they have a great cut to them and dont have much of a bevelled edge like most cc's. Awesome.

great classy simple table too.

Oh and by the way, that Casino Royale set just above is UN FRICKEN REAL if I havent said it before. One of my new favorites for sure. beauty colors that pop and a really well executed inlay

thanks for the share

Thanks @spikeithard , appreciate it. I actually do miss the Bangallas even though they were ProGens, but as you say, had a great cut and lasted ages without any wear and tear.

Damn, do those Blades look sexy post-oiling. I still regret not pulling the trigger on those Casino Royales; I often take out my samples and we whisper sweet nothings to one another while wondering what might have been. *sigh*

Thanks mate, they were fun to do :)

Hands down some of my favorite custom sets, and the background story and extra accessories (plaques, buttons, cut cards, etc.) make them even more epic. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Mr B, I appreciate your kind words and interest mate :)

Just out of curiosity where did you get the Casino de Bangalla from? I have the Casino da Vinci and am less than thrilled with their $500 chip.

I designed it myself, based on the Casino de Ithsmus City chips from 'Licence to Kill'. The labels were printed by Slamdunk Labels (no longer in business I believe).

Thanks chaps :) will be having a game on 25 February so can't wait to get them on the felt :)

Your chips are AMAZING!
Where did you get your labels from? Did they do the shapes for you?

I assume you are the one who takes off the old chip labels...do you then clean the chip before you apply the new inlays? How?

Sorry for all the questions---i'm in the process of trying to put together my own set, so any help (from an expert) is really beneficial.

Haha, not an expert mate :) No apology necessary either mate :)

I removed the labels and then gave them a scrub in a warm soapy bath to get any residue off as necessary :). I was thinking I might do this again when I decided I couldn't take it a third time, and got customs from CPC :)

What tool did you use to get the labels off the Progens? Did you oil them afterwards?
Thanks so much, Phantom! You've already been a huge help.

I actually sold them with the label on, and the other chips are PGI China Clays. They look the same, but the pattern is slightly different. Didn't oil them at all :)
