Peeling lables (1 Viewer)

I am currently getting ready to murder my first chips and make a new set. I thought id practice peeling labels on some HSI with a razor blade but I'm scratching the face pretty bad. Is there a way around this or is that common ? Wondering now if i should just label over them but I'm wondering how that will look? Someone with more experience with this please send some advice! Thanks in advance!
