The hotstamp at least has better edgespots. Boring 418 < everything else :)

Agreed -- only reason the Paris $1 is highly regarded is because it's readily available for cheap, and is generic enough to fit in many lineups (re-labeled or as-is).

Or if your wife was born in Paris, it's your favorite city on Earth, and you relish the connection with a Las Vegas casino.

That casino having your favorite place to eat in Vegas, Mon Ami Gabi, doesn't hurt either. :cool

I'm not - and I don't think BG is - putting anyone down who loves the Paris $1 chips for sentimental or personal reasons. And I definitely wouldn't put down Mon Ami Gabi. :)

I'm just saying, for someone voting objectively, and out of those 6 chips, the Paris is the least interesting based on looks.

It's way out of it's league up there.

Simplicity can be beautiful, and it comes in many forms.

To me, the spots on all three chips in the top row are like lipstick on a pig. Ill chosen in that the spot colors don't work together, nor do they complement (or compliment) the base color.

Oceanside: Yeah, I've always wanted chips with telephone numbers instead of the city name. Spot colors chosen by a vision-impaired four-year-old.

King's: Washed-out powderpuff blue, with a teeny-tiny graphic element shoehorned in as an afterthought.

Lakeshore: Inlay a fifth-generation xerox of a design done by Ben Franklin.

Sam's: It's a hot-stamp. Kinda like voting for the VW Beetle as car of the year -- in 2020.

Now, the Flamingo is a classy and well-designed chip.

YMMV, and obviously does. :cool

The asymmetric nature of the Flamingo tilts me to no end.
The Sam's Town is beautiful, but being hot-stamped instead of inlaid, is like having six double carburettors instead of multi-point injection (the comparison with the single carburettor air-cooled boxer of the Beetle was unfair):D.
My vote goes to Paris. Classy and classic, and using only blue and white leaves a lot of room for many kinds of 5s.
