Hey guys!

I would like to start a community-wide design project to put on the Four Suits Polyclay mold! I thought it would be really cool to have everyone suggest a name for a casino/card room and photos of chips that you really like or that you would like to see become a part of the line-up. We will start narrowing things down later. For now I would just like to hear names, themes, and any ideas that you might have.

I would like to do denominations from .25¢ to $5000 or possibly $25,000 for both cash and tourney sets. I would be happy to mock-up the actual chips and maybe someone else could provide mock-ups for the labels.

So, let’s hear it! What theme sounds good to you? Also, what are some of your favorite chips?

Thanks everyone!

I would personally love to see stock chips with a non descript classy design. IMO these are the two greatest looking stock chips I’ve ever scene

I'm heavily biased, but nonetheless I think this might be a very nice suggestion.

Since you want to appeal to a customer base as broad as possible, generic themes and terms and popular colors are primarily in demand I'd assume.

What would fit this better than the Horseshoe Cleveland/Cincinnati chips? The theme is as generic as can be, and the overall chip design is way above average in my opinion. The Cleveland $25,000 seems to be popular with a lot of chippers here, frequently used as card capper. Only downside: Extra cost of edge alignment.

Edit: The rebranded casinos' chips obviously had the same designer, so...

Since a few people liked @Tommy’s post about using the Four Suits label, which I’m totally down for using, why don’t we talk about chips that we like to use as inspiration in the set?

I always loved the Protege T1000 chip and the T25k chip, and I know lots of people are a fan of 8v chips.

What would you guys like to see?

I don't think I have ever seen those white $20s before. Cool!

Something original.

Inspired by, perhaps, but not straight-out near-copies of existing spot/color combinations...

I'd love to see some chips that you would like this set to be inspired by! You have such an immense collection of incredible chips (20th Century leaps to mind) that I really think you could add some great ideas to this thread.

I've always liked 4 suits logo as well!

I would also throw out there Rat Pack themed chips - well known gambling theme, relatively generic and apparently Rat Pack can't be trademarked https://lasvegassun.com/news/2009/oct/02/judge-says-phrase-rat-pack-cant-be-trademarked/

You could obviously still trademark your artwork.

As far as chips, I think Tommy and the guys did a great job with the Empress Star chips - cash and tourney - love the V8 quarter and the tri moons.

I've always thought the four suits theme -- like the four seasons -- to be over-worked to death.

The judge ruled that they can't be trademarked only in that particular context.

Possibly, but unlikely to be worthwhile. It would certainly be protected by copyright, but trademarks are a much tougher nut to crack, and the maintenance fees are substantial.

I think the color balance is a bit off in the picture, the 20s are a very light green. They look pretty fantastic in person, everyone in the local games calls it the "Mint" chip.
