A hundred karma points to @courage for surprising me with a set of earbuds. One of our frequent text/email topics is the quality of our current set of headphones and he tried to pitch a set to me a while back that I thought looked like cheap Chinese sweatshop garbage, but he was insistent. When I didn't bend to his whim and order them he proved me wrong by sending me a pair and making me eat my words.

So the lesson is to disagree with @courage about headphones and he'll send you a set just so you'll have to admit you were wrong :)

Here's the pair btw. They sounds pretty fantastic - much better than $22 earbuds have any right to sound - and I haven't had any of the problems with the cord mentioned in a couple of the reviews. Gotta buy a case for them, though, since they come naked.

I have a pair of these too. They are pretty great, I must agree!

Here is a shout out to @PAZ for offering to lend me his copy of The Campiglia Chip Guide. Lending books borders on giving them away, it can be a rare surprise to get your copy back without going to extreme efforts. I appreciate the leap of faith needed to offer to ship your book off to a virtual stranger.

I went ahead and bought a used copy for myself. That way when I fall in love with the pretty pictures I will not feel guilty about keeping the book!

A shout out for my new friends!
@slisk250 for picking me up to witness the unveiling of his chip stash this last weekend. It was great.

Also a huge shout out for @Psypher1000 for he and his wife's hospitality. He had gifts for each of us and I think @pokermijo got to take home some racks to whet his chip appetite! All compliments of @Psypher1000. Now I do not know if that officially makes him a dealer/pusher by getting poor Adriel hooked on more chips.

Anyway I met more great folks from this site and I look forward to a great time next weekend at "The Rumble"!!!

Quick shout out for Dan aka @MegaTon44 for the surprise package today. I received a couple of casino decks from him which I told him was not necessary but he did it anyway. Thanks for the cards my friend!

You're very welcome, David. You've been so helpful and generous to me as a new chipper and it is greatly appreciated.

I would like to thank James @JFCJ for finding a decent set of Hal Mar TRK chips in excellent condition when it seemed impossible. Here is the latest acquisition. Will post more pics of the entire set soon.

Ok, so I could write a book about the small things and bigger things I have seen and experienced while a member of this forum. I have written in this thread before but I have to call out a member and write about a recent experience.

I have to give kudos and and call out to Chad aka @nitzilla.

When I was at the Rumble in the Rockies last month I had the opportunity to play with some very nice cards that were provided by Chad. We got to talking and told him that I really liked one of the particular setups and would be interested in purchasing one. He said he would sell me one and he gave me a very fair price. He actually had left and was at the bottom of the of the driveway which was very narrow, steep, long and winding. Chad actually ran up the long steep driveway to bring me a setup. That is one thing I can call out but it does not stop there...
So a few days ago I receive a PM from him asking for my address. Well today I get home and there are two more setups in the mail. In a pm he told me that he came across something that showed him that he had paid much less for the cards that he sold me and wanted to send me another set up. That is what I call an honest man!

For all the new chippers please note that this is what makes this forum so great. We have some of the best collectors in the hobby assembled here. Yes, there are times that we may not see eye to eye when discussing politics or chip values and sometimes we may argue about it. Some may even give some of the newbies a hard time as a test to see what someones intentions are and to protect our community, but as I have said before that is what makes America great. We can have this type of forum and agree to disagree!

Now, I wish Chad a bunch of good chip and card karma and a bunch of "Run Good".

Thank you my friend!
David O

Thanks @David O
I'm glad I could get you another setup. I know they'll be used well. ;)
I also threw in the loose Bicycle Prestige setup at the last minute, I really enjoyed playing with those at the Rumble warm-up. :)
Glad they made it to you, until the next gathering!

I don't agree.

@Forty4 found a couple of one dollar outpost chips that would fill in my racks and thought I would give them a good home, so long as I didn't grind them up in the garbage disposal (like I did to a handful of chips a few months ago.) Unfortunately the envelope ran afoul of a postal inspector or a thief. It got here today, four weeks after it was sent from New York slit open with a blade or letter opener. Fourty4's letter was still inside but nothing else.

I appreciate being remembered!

hello,

it's been a while since I should have posted here.
I hadn't because I would have to name nearly everybody (except a french guy who's really getting on my nerves).

Anyway, I would like to make a huge thanks @slisk250 for offering me tons of chips (Terribles EOL,pcf) for free, @John Masterfly for offering also for free some single chips, especially Empress chip, @Mr. Cheese for helping me out, and @p5woody too for offering his designs skills generously.

Oh, and also, thanks to all members who friendly participate from time to time to the You PCF lucky Gambler).

Thanks

Back to back for @PAZ
I was commenting on some TRK chips, asking what made them so special. Two days later there were a handful of TRK's in my mailbox.
(It's probably worth adding that he was right, they are so special, and this random act of kindness will almost certainly cost me a lot of money in future TRK chip purchases)

I just completed my first custom set with CPC and I would like to say thanks to the folks that helped along the way;

@p5woody for incredible design work and extreme patience. Great guy to work with if you are in need of a custom design.

I first went to @David O, @BGinGA and @courage for help, simply because they have a ton of experience and I had received help/information from them before.
David O recommended I contact @ChaosRock and Courage recommended I contact @jbutler.

I decided this was going to remain a small group for help in getting this done, not because others aren't capable or willing, just I would have been on information overload.

It was truly remarkable how willing the 6 were to help. They took phone calls, emails, texts, PMs and answered a thousand questions, never once refusing to support this effort. I only know one of them personally, David O, but the rest treated this effort like it was their own. I might not ever meet the rest (unless they come to the Texas meet up), but they treated me as a friend thanks!

I had to make a couple of compromises from the original design which could have sunk the idea, but they worked with me to get it done.

So thank you to some wonderful people! If I can ever give back please don't hesitate to ask.

Mark

I have three shout outs..

1. @David Spragg of CPC for one a great job on the custom chips I have received, two for the awesome willingness to use my Custom design for prototyping the 44mm A-mold, and three for the awesome customer service/correspondence was awesome..

2. @p5woody for and Amazing job on fixing up my graphics and enhancing them to look so fantastic. We emailed back and forth so many times (68 I believe) and he not once seemed to be frustrated with me and my request, he was also very fast to respond..

3. @Shaggy who is a friend of mine, he had a hand in getting me started on this CHIP journey (also known as an addiction) and helped with design ideas on my chips, High Hand button, and Dealer button, for my amazing Custom Chip set..

Ok, I guess it's time to do this again.

1. Thanks to Nico - @Don Clay for the free ride offer from Charles de Gaulle (in November) :)
2. Thanks to Scott @Psypher1000 again for being the ultimate chip mule and trusted friend (until his shipping dept. kind of shut us down).....and now @ChaosRock for taking over temporary chip storage (y) (you don't know what you might be subjecting yourself to)....and also @pokerplayingpisces for holding some PCNY 20s for me(y)
3 Marsha @abby99 for not objecting to being Queen of the Circus Maximus next August.
4. Thank you the the Larsons @Lars and wife. She drove about 4 total hours to get my Mike's neon from Brimley's signs in SLC and then to Kurt for driving that treasure another 8 hours to the Rumble.
5. @Godzilla28 for what I'm sure will be a wonderful trade (you know you want to man!!!!)
6. @bigfruits for allowing me the opportunity to fully complete my Terrible's MT secondary set. I'm not sure many people have those sets with 500s.

It has been a while since I posted some shout outs but here it goes.....

@DJ Mack who sent me 5 - $5 Horseshoe chips and asked for nothing He deserves the good Chip Karma!
@CHP TD who sent me the 4D14 spot sample that completed my set!! He did not ask for anything in return so send him the good Chip Karma
@detroitdad for the trade on the Horseshoe chips
@luckbox for sending me a free horseshoe $500 chip! Good Chip Karma his way!

And all of you who have recently sold me chips for some great deals. @kmccormick100, @RagsPoker , @manamongkids

David

@Chbyfngr made an extra custom button for the Hard Rock Albuquerque chip set and thought of me. It was a wonderful and unexpected surprise.

I had planned to get that set and the new button in play at my last $1/$1 game, but I ended up with 15 people at the game. My Hard Rock Albuquerque set is not intended to support a two table game so they got benched for a bigger set.

Chbyfngr's thoughtful gift will be in play the next time I get a single table of $1/$1 players as will the Hard Rock chips.

Thank you -=- DrStrange

@PAZ made some of his famous cinnamon bread as gluten free for me (and presumably others) for DCS. When he saw I wasn't able to attend DCS, he shipped some of the gluten free bread to me, and some to my parent's house for them.

He never said a word. It just showed up in the mail one day. This level of thoughtfulness and generosity never ceases to blow me away.

Thanks PAZ!

I was fortunate enough to receive a couple chips randomly this week from people who know what I collect. The chips were unsolicited and unexpected, but 100% appreciated. I've reached out to my two benefactors to thank them personally, but I know there's more than those two on this site that forward chips along to people who collect them, need them for barrels, etc. I want to say thanks to all you PCF members who send chips w/o prompting and w/o expectation of funds or reciprocation. You rock!

And to all you on the receiving end, be sure to pay it forward!
