There are more than a few PCF members who deserve to be thanked for what they contribute to the community, so I thought it would be a good idea to open a thread like this.

Please post any thanks you'd like to give or just a quick note about a positive interaction or helpful tip you received from another PCFer. It doesn't have to be some extended treatise, perhaps just a "Chicken Rob rocks - he helped me pick out a yo yo for my nephew. Thanks Rob!" If we all saw the many PMs that go on behind the scenes I think we'd have even more of an appreciation for how pleasant and helpful members can be here, so this might be a way of reminding us even when things get cantankerous in other threads.

I was prompted to start this one because of an extraordinarily thoughtful gesture by @PAZ. As some of you know, my stepdaughter recently had a health scare. Thankfully, it was resolved with the best possible news about a week ago and I emailed an update to those friends of mine from PCF who had been so kind as to ask how things were going. Naturally, as considerate as he is, Paul was among those asking after Casey.

Evidently remembering that I had mentioned how crazy Casey was for his cinnamon bread that I brought home from BBotB, PAZ put two loaves in the mail with a really sweet card wishing her well in her recovery. My wife was completely blown away that someone who had never met her or Casey could be so thoughtful and Casey was more than thrilled to get two full loaves of the best cinnamon bread on the planet.

I don't mean to embarrass PAZ with the praise, but it is certainly in his spirit that a thread like this should be started. And it could be worse - I almost started a "PAZ Appreciation" thread! I'm sure there would be plenty of posts in that thread alone, so let's remember that we have a ton of members who make the forum a positive and rewarding place to hang out.

I hope and expect to see lots of good things here.

@Tommy maybe we could sticky this if it gets enough participation?

Just want to share my positive story about H|Q.

He's totally spot on, judgement-wise.

No only joking. Just wanted to say I've only had one "trade" with a PCF'r, but it was a good one and labmonkey was patient with a total noob/and the goods were sent and got here perfectly, and the were packaged great too (chips even came in rack things which weren't part of the deal).

I don't/ haven't really had that much interaction with anyone else, but you're all a credit to the site and the community.

Yep, @PAZ is pretty much the man in this regard. Several of you probably remember what he did for me following my cancer surgery almost 3 [] years ago. I was recovering at home and a small flat rate box showed up with this unmistakable handwriting and return address. Inside were 50 individually wrapped chips with a card letting me know he was thinking about me and wanted me to have a new chip to look forward to every morning as I recovered. And boy were there some beauties in there. I've sold some chips and sets that I never thought I would - but there is no way these are ever leaving my collection.

@lnlver deserves a shout out from me too. He arranged for Phil Hellmuth (yes, that Phil Hellmuth) to call me shortly after I started radiation in 2013. I was super bummed that I couldn't talk more since I was about a week into the side effects but it was such a surreal experience to hear him talk about his OFC shenanigans and home game stories. I know he gets a bad rap in the media (I often wonder how much of this is for show vs. reality) but my only real life interaction with him was superb. He was very supportive and kind. A few days later a signed book, two signed pics, and a signed Milwaukee's Best beer can (lol) showed up on my porch.

There are way too many more to list and I mean zero disrespect for not listing them all!!! :)

There are lotsa fine members throughout PCF.

My favorite are those that have sent me free chips, including @Mr Tree @jbutler and @Jeff

Getting chips is awesome. Getting free, kick ass chips is fawesome

Special mention fodder @LabMonkey for jumping into my charity auction with wallet wide open. Thanks again!

And retroactive thanks to @Toby for the epic sample sets as seen in this thread and with a teaser pic below.

Second Jack's thoughts. Getting a Kat Kase was my chipping highlight of 2015

Right after @Tommy for having this site. I have to go with David O for inviting me to the forum and helping feel welcome when I became a member.

PCF is packed full of generous and caring people as seen with the fund raising when either a member or members family are in need of a little help. I can only assume there is much more private help happening behind the scenes as well.

@Trihonda with his home game food drive !!
@links_slayer charity raffle !! Both clearly top notch people.

I consider myself very lucky to even be a part of this forum.

Pat

So this list could get lengthy quickly.

@Tommy - For the forums, the group buys, the giveaways, & all that those entail. Thanks!

@jbutler - For the snapper & making points on matters outside of poker/chips that I disagree with - it forces me to either know my own positions better or to at least learn something or consider alternatives.

@slisk250 - For the opportunity to see some fine chips that I might otherwise never get to appreciate in person & for honest feedback

@BGinGA - For corrections & ceaseless opportunities to learn more & more about this industry

@liftapint - For your persistence & cooperation on a fantastic set of chips we share!

@Potsie1 - For some amazing samples & greatly appreciated trades

@Gear - For the top quality labels (even though we pay for them)

@p5woody - For sharing your design talents with us in a largely selfless manner. You do more than you need at a price that's beyond reasonable!

@David Spragg - For tolerating all our custom questions with grace & professionalism, and for resurrecting quality custom compression-molded chip manufacturing for the home crowd

@dennis63 - For making the Key West chips available at an unbeatable price for those that need top quality at a moments notice, and for trying to get that Gemaco group buy off the ground even though it didn't work out

@OldWestPokerSupplies, @GameOnChipCompany, @palmgaming, @Spinettis Gaming, & @ABC Gifts and Awards - for the quality products you provide at reasonable rates, and generally catering to our chip degeneracy

@T_Chan for offering those kickass tables and incredible prices

@Apache & @TheChipRoom for always searching for the next source of new & used chips & making them available to us

@detroitdad & all the others who have appreciated my sample sets - I'm glad for the compliments!

@ all the people who have provided me feedback along the way when developing my sets - a sincere thank you!

@ all the folks who have helped me acquire chips for Mount Empress...thank you!

And that's just round one. Honestly, there's a lot of neat folks in this forum who deserve appreciation. Sometimes we can be a bit salty in the forums, but this is easily the most generous, thoughtful, charitable group of hobbyists I've been around per capita. I'm sure I'll be back later to list more.

Way too many to mention them all.. But I'll toss a few that come to mind.

First off, @Jeff for his epic meetup pouring gasoline onto my budding chip addition.

Second, @p5woody for his amazing help early on in both our careers (he as an artist, me as a collector)

Huge shout outs to anyone here who has attended a meetup or game at my place. This makes it all worth while. What's the point of having nice chips and tables, if there's no one to appreciate them.

Shout out to @T_Chan for his fueling, enabling my table building addiction... Lol

Shout out to @BGinGA for his tourney structure advice and helping to run the P* tournies.

Shout also to @bentax1978 for also running the tournies and to agreeing to a chop last night, that allowed me 4 hours sleep (compared to 3 hours).

About these tournies, I hope more people take advantage of these. Our local poker club (on Facebook) has 800 members, and they run similar tournies, amd the organizer charges $5 rake (for a $20 game). For us to have rake-free games, often catered to our requests, is a huge deal. Let's take advantage of this opportunity folks. And be sure to show some appreciation for those making it happen.

Definitely a special thanks due to @David Spragg

I've burdened him with dozens of questions and always learn lots about the industry, history or production processes.

Exceptional customer service - David goes well above and beyond what is required. He's the polar Ott-osite of his predecessor thank crivens!

Spot reserved because this site along with it's members, it may take a long while to give credit to all those who have helped!!! I am almost afraid to write something because I am not sure if there is a limit to the number of characters you can have in one post!!!

I truly love this place and the members here so I might just end the recognitions here to include everyone on this site. Many have helped publicly and other behind the scenes. I would hate to leave anyone out so to all that are here. THANK YOU!!!

@David O is due special credit too, for his epic assistance with the Black Cat sample sets and DB orders. A safe pair of hands and amazing attention to detail!

I'm not putting @jbutler on this list because none of those FU links had boobie gifs in them.

@Psypher1000 heads the list. After my dad banned me from shipping chips to his house in AZ, I had no options to continue on my 2015 buying spree until Scott made the mistake of allowing me to use his home for secondary storage. What a guy. (28 boxes coming from Maine on Friday, man!) He has also given me a shot at some cool chips. Neither of us has any idea where we are with all the purchases and trades we have made pending my return in July.

@p5woody - What can I say about Steve. He has made buttons, chips, cards, and asks for nothing. He gets a big fat care package when I finally get home in summer.

@Jackstraw - allowed me to fully heal from the Mapes bad beat last summer by allowing me to join the Dunes club. That casino had special meaning to my deceased mom and his willingness to share hasn't been matched by anyone here since I've been in the game. He could have hoarded those babies or auctioned them to the highest bidder. Total class act and I'm forever in his debt. He also allowed me to complete my Terrible's STJ secondary set. I can't wait to get his chips to him this summer.

I'll put part 2 together for a later post as I have to think about this with detail but have a question. PAZ is somewhat of the chipping and baking Santa Claus in our community. When am I going to hear about something special others have done for him?

In no particular order.

@Toby for being a stand up guy and including me in super secret sample sets.

@slisk250 also a great bloke. Thanks for your help and just having someone to talk to in times of need.

@bentax1978 awesomely friendly guy, love our random PM chats.

@MatB the poker Stars games wouldn't be nearly as much fun without you at my table. Love the banter.

@jbutler you rarely post something that doesn't make me laugh or that I don't agree with. Hoping I can have a drink with you one day.

@ChaosRock also someone I could see clicking with if we met. Nothing but nice.

@BGinGA hugely knowledgeable person. Please stop taking my chips on P*.

Many others that I will add.

I have met a lot of great people thanks to this community (which includes CT from the pre-mass migration). Every single person I have met has been a great person, and the regs at the bergs game are some of the finest people I know.

The more distant members I met at various meet ups similarly Cary the same standards.

Paz is of course the crown jewel of the nice guys. Every time I turn around he's doing something kind and generous. He even adapted the crack bread to gluten free so I could enjoy it. And it was awesome.

The one negative experience I've had was the user formerly known as grand gnu. Even in this case, the community tried giving him some constructive feedback, and he's taken it to heart. Seeing his recent thread where the same people who he rubbed the wrong way we're giving him good career advice was further illustrative of just how great this community is.

Though I really feel lucky to have found this community, there are plenty of you I prefer on my right stead of my left. ;)

There are a lot of people that are absolutely amazing in this community.

@abby99 for helping me with my Grand Victoria set and loaning me a CPC color sample back in the day

@slisk250 for helping me finally get my Terrible's collection back after having to sell it a year or two back due to some life emergencies.

@k9dr for harvesting some Vegas 1's for me

@bentax1978 for the great advice he's given me throughout the last few months and also for giving me a chance to own some absolutely beautiful samples of his chips (and for harvesting some Vegas chippies for me too)

@PAZ For sending me some TRK chips free of charge being I had never handled them before

@Toby For sending replacement sample chips even though I had told him there was no need and even including extra's.

@David O For helping me with my chip search

@jbutler for not being a complete asshat all the time... I mean for getting me a sample set of Parx chips :) I kid because I love

@CdnBeerLover For getting me hooked on Royal Yaks back in the day and telling me about this place. Don't have the Yak's anymore but they were a great chip for the years that I used them

@Gear for the amazing work on all the various labels I've had him make. Well over 2000 plus labels I've gotten from him now

@H|Q for getting my secondary Grand Victoria set for me and for the future 'Shoe 2's :)

@Psypher1000 for rigging the state lottery so I could purchase one of his sample sets!

@Ben for the cool Vineyard 100 for absolutely free!

@p5woody for designing my Gangster Squad custom felt and helping me work through my inlay design way back in the day

@BiGGyT for harvesting a Scarlet Pearl sample set for me

@AK Chip for the amazing sample sets and dealer button.

@Tommy For getting me hooked on Terrible's

@everyone else that makes this community what it is today!

I apologize for those that I left out, I know I missed people but just know I appreciate all the people that makes this such a fun and welcoming community.

@UW85 , I stumbled across pictures of his Hwy 9 and Aces sets while googling for set ups or something, I had played at both those card rooms and was sad to see them go so when I saw the chips I got very curious. I signed up for an account at CT and I believe I had zero posts when I pm'ed (fuck "conversations" ;) ) UW85 asking how he ended up with the chips, he not only answered every question I had but also linked me to things like the chiproom, posts about chips I liked, etc. His kindness and generosity with his time and knowledge to a person that was a complete stranger, along with his Hall of Fame level thread showing his poker room and chip sets, were the first experiences I had in this hobby and a big part of why I wanted to be a part of it.

@Redbelly One of the first things I found while browsing CT was Redbelly's Round Up on the Ridge thread, to say I was impressed with Sean's set up was an understatement and reading about the tournament he was planning made me really want to attend. Not ashamed to admit it, other than one game in my entire life I had not played a home game with such an incredible set up, still haven't. Everything Sean had planned/made was first class and, just like UW85, he seemed like a hell of a guy. I debated for a little bit about asking for an invite, I was well aware of what it looks like when a newbie to a forum/group just rolls up with three posts and wants to hangout with the cool kids, but after thinking about how fun the game itself sounded and the thought of being able to see so many cool chip sets in one place I couldn't resist and ended up asking about an invite. Anybody who has dealt with Sean knows what a class act he is, my first interactions over pm/email with him were exactly that. Sean's only request was to get to know me a little bit by email in the couple months leading up to the game. He sent an email to me coincidentally on the same day I was having a really really bad day, the worst day of my 35 years on this planet kind of day, and I ended up sending Sean an email that was far and beyond the standard "get to know a random dude from the internet" kind of email. Instead of blacklisting me from the Round Up for being a little bitch ( ;) ) the whole "Sean is a class act" thing was evident judging by the email I got back from him, there are good people in this world and he is one of them. Not only did I get a seat in one of the coolest turnys I have ever played in, not only did I receive one (i mean 2!!!) of the most bad ass commemorative chips out there, but I also got to meet a bunch of Sean's friends and end up getting invited to play in Redbelly's WSOP league along with various other random games.

I could go on, there are others that I might list later or that have been more recent like people I have traded chips with or the CT/PCF members I've met at Redbelly's, but those two guys are a huge reason I got involved in this hobby and I am forever grateful for their coolness!

@Tommy for helping out with a re-ship. Also for the ongoing running of the forum and the giveaways (y)

@MoscowRadio for sending me some 66.7mm racks at no cost after reading about how quality racks are hard to come by in Australia :)

@AK Chip for helping with a re-ship recently and giving me some samples and additions to my recent chip set acquirement (y) And @Quicksilver-75 for also helping out / being involved in this deed.

@p5woody for putting up with my fussy design requests and working hard with difficult artwork I found on Google images

Of course @links_slayer for shipping Links_Strong chips around the world at his cost. P.S. I'll get you that photo of the chip at Tasmania's Cradle Mountain this winter (your summer)!

I was recently telling my partner about what a great community this is.

Oh, I'll throw one in there for @RainmanTrail for allowing a split of my PCRs after claiming dibs. A fellow Aussie member requested a rack but was minutes too late. Rainman was happy to share the buy with reason "I know it's hard to get chips down there in Aus".
