New, uncirculated chip from the Lucky Dragon arrived with a flea bite. If the engraving strikes the chip off-center than there are 5 micrometers or less of material between the hat and the edge of the chip. Or, as is now the case with this specific chip, zero micrometers.

Or, to put it a different way, this Top Hat is topless.

It's an Infinite Hat and Cane.

Those just look fragile. Maybe they'll change once casinos start having to take them prematurely out of rotation.

That's was my thought when I first saw it - both the hats and the denomination are way too close to the edge, both in terms of aesthetics and strength.

I'm pretty sure casinos are not worried about flea bites. It's a security thing. I do agree it sucks for us chippers, but after that chip airbrushing fiasco I don't blame them.

Fully agree about their potential value to casinos. I'm purely commenting from a chipper/collector perspective.

It almost looks like a manufacturing error. The way the denomination and top hat and cane are off centered in the rim

Well if the chips that are distributed throughout the properties start to become sloppy, that seems like it could become a security issue - in my opinion.

I may be in the minority but I like the mold; it just needs to be adjusted to be more centered between recess and edge.

I just got a rack of mint 1's from there. Glad those are at least on the RHC mold. That denom mold doesn't strike my fancy at all.
