Hi All: I have a shot to buy some Paulson THC training/training roulette chips. I haven’t seen these before and not sure what to offer for them.
I would guess there are roughly 300 chips in 50 cents, $1, $5, $25, $100 values.
I wish I had more specifics but hoping someone can provide some insight on history and or approximate value! Thanks in advance

I'd offer 400. If you want to make a appropriate offer, I'd say 600. 2 per. Maybe a hint more depending on breakdown and true condition.

For a set of 300 of these I think an offer of $400-500 would be reasonable. These aren't roulette chips if they're denominated.
One of the chips in the picture is a roulette chip and the others are valued. Not sure how many are roulette at this time though-hopefully I can get a specific count soon!

Technically, you can use this set likes this as a roulette set, if you have enough of each colour. Just ignore the denoms. Usually though you need 200 per player, and that's not what's here.

The problem with these is that they're unlikely very playable - 6 denoms suggests 50 each, but who knows. Maybe if you're playing with 4 people, you'd be okay, depending on breakdown. But with 6-8 players, it wouldn't work. And I don't think I've seen those exact chips before, so finding more would be difficult at best.
So yeah, Paulson THC solid hotstamps could be worth $2 apiece, give or take, depending on condition and color (though white, red, green, and black are the most common / least desirable colors.) But to what end? A lot of people would like to mill them and relabel them, and if you're one of those people, maybe they're worth something to you. Or maybe you could resell them to somebody who wants to do that. But that's what you've got to keep in mind when you're considering buying these.
Personally, I'd offer a buck apiece. That way you could easily resell them if you find you can't use them.

And as far as history goes, I can't tell you anything about those specifically, but that kind of chip isn't uncommon. We've seen plenty of paulson hot stamp chips that look similar, used for training. Some of them stamped with the name of the dealers school, and some casinos use Fun Nites for that purpose. So it is possible that you could find SIMILAR chips. And fwiw, I'd bet that those are leaded Paulsons.

Thanks for the background info @upNdown .

Update: Just got the breakdown from the seller:
(5) 50 cent chips
(20) $1’s
(120) $5’s
(90) $25’s
(40) $100’s
(40) Yellow Roulettes

What about the half-dollars?

Hmmm...the 20 singles really hampers the usefulness of the set, even in a 4-handed game. I bet you could make up the difference with some white non-denom THC solids that are available now and then from sellers around here, or something similar.

Missed those: only 5 unfortunately…

I have purchased many of these "dealer school" chips, they have gone up in value like most chips recently, but there is not a huge demand for these, as they are not too fancy. The set is not a good payable breakdown, I would offer a buck a chip and see where it goes.
