Paulson Starburst Weight (2 Viewers)

Can anyone tell me how much Paulson Starburst chips should weigh?
I have a set of 100 orange. I weighed a few of them and they ranged from 7g to 11g, does that sound right? I’m concerned they may be fake or replicas. They are definitely old, they came in old cardboard chip tray. Is there anything I can look for to authenticate them?

They shouldn’t weigh 7g, but they vary a lot, anywhere from 9g to 11g would be typical. It’s highly unlikely that they’re fake, especially since they came in a cardboard box which is what they were originally sold in, but post some pictures just in case.

And in case you haven’t been doing this already, try weighing them 10 at a time to get a more accurate reading from your scale if it isn’t meant for things as small as poker chips.

I only weighed about 10 of them last night, all individually. I will weigh them in 10s and see what the average weight is. Its just a kitchen scale so you’re right, not really meant for such small amounts.
Any idea what these would be worth? They seem to have pretty sharp edges.

Yeah, I’d expect to see fluctuations of almost a gram either way. So if they’re about 10 grams, I wouldn’t be surprised to see some as low as maybe 9.3 or as high as 10.7, but much more than that, either way world surprise me.
I don’t have any shade of orange starburst, so I can’t give you a weight that they should be. (Paulson chips’ weights vary significantly by color.)
I’d guess either your scale is whack or maybe you have a combination of colors - are they all the same shade of orange?

It depends on which shade of orange you have, if they all match, and their condition.
Based on those factors, there’s a huge range of what they could fetch in today’s market. Ballpark - $100-$300

Could go to ~$400 if they're near mint and Blaze Orange.

I’d say (guess) they are blazing orange.

These look legit. I think a rack went recently for $300. I'd never pay that, but certainly there are others who will.

The more I’m looking at these they appear to be in great condition. The stamps look great, none are re stamping. Most of the edges are pretty sharp. I’d say these, although clearly old, have barely ever been played with. I was just looking at the 2 racks that recently sold and these look in substantially better condition.
I weighed them in random stacks of 10 and 7 of the stacks weighed 105g, 1 was 104g and 2 were 106g.
