Not Mine Paulson RHC Never used Chips (1 Viewer)

They are overstamps (inlayed chips that are cancelled).

Interesting. I wonder if they’re full of lead?

The cancellation stamp and the age of the chips makes inlay removal especially painful. I was going to make the $2.50 chip a Jack frac, but changed my mind after removing the inlay from one chip.

IIRC... there were a number of these that were sold in the Paulson stores back when they had them still in operation. I believe that they re-ordered chips before they closed up, weren't delivered, and were then cancelled and sold off in the store.

I have a theory that Paulson also used leftover blanks from this set to make these ones, and used the fives from the casino with the hot air balloon that was also cancelled in a similar fashion. I have a set of Good Luck Clubs and have compared them to the cancelled Paulson versions and aside from inlays they are identical.

Wouldn't it make more sense to just have gear do them. He's the Master Murderer. I'm just doing my best to help. These would require his skills.... They are beautiful.

Now now, @grantc54 might also be in the running for that title!

I've committed my share of chip-related felony. Do you suppose there's something in the local water?

True! In vendor terms, that is. Grantc54 does amazing work. Wonder, Grant, and Mamba are the reasons I started playing in the pond.

The non-cancelled versions of these chips are very difficult to find. At one time I had 3 complete sets but I do not think I have any more. Here is a larger image of an uncancelled $1 chip. You can see the textured inlay.

I probably have one or two of these somewhere in a trader box.

Also, I have two factory sealed decks of U.S. Playing Card Company Aristocrat playing cards and 2 Bud Jones factory wrapped sticks of dice from this casino.

Wow. So many questions. Any pics of the uncancelled sets you had? Did you have any of the $100s?

From a closed casino in NOLA. Hotstamped and cancelled.

I've lived in New Orleans 25 years, and I've never heard of Crown Casino. I remember going to the old Flamingo riverboat downtown (before Harrah's), and I've been to all the surrounding boats (Treasure Chest, Boomtown, Bally's).

Does anyone know the history of this Crown Casino? I'm having a hard time finding anything on the internet about it except for its chips.
