Paulson Mold Chips for home - Availability (3 Viewers)

Sorry for the delay... I was very busy these last days...

In addition, I have to correct one of my comments, because I wrongly thought that the key west chips were no longer available. So I was thinking that you had a deal in sight for a certain batch, hence my remark concerning the possibilities of relabelling. Idea in which I was later reinforced by seeing your post in which you mixed some Key Wests with Atlantic club tokens. The idea is not bad, however the molds not being identical, you should rather go on one or the other of the 2 sets. Some here consider it inappropriate and unsightly to mix different molds. But I see now that you have come a long way and are now heading towards a fully custom set. This is probably the best option depending on your tastes.

Nice! I also experienced this with a few cards, but not for such a large increase. That said, since it's been a few years since I quit the game and haven't taken my boxes out of the attic, I might find some treasures there! Well, I hope...
the arrival of Commander format has really flipped some card values. like Rhystic Study, a common card from prophecy maybe worth a nickel is now $40 due to it's impact on the multiplayer format and the rise of that format in the comunity. it's as popular as standard is. Maybe more. Carpet of flowers jumped from a 10 cent uncommon as well.

Feel like a newb again here on the forum tho... Hoping to pick up the language soon enough to pick up a home cash set soon. Thinking a set of HSI might be a good way to go. Especially since Indiana and Michigan are so close.

HSI along with Indiana Grand are two of the nicer RHC sets to have come to market in the last year or so imo. Can't go wrong with either.

Take. Your. Time.

Trust me.
OP ^^^. Seems like you are moving way too fast. Slow down a bit and figure out what you really want and what will work for your game. Figure out if you like relabeled chips mixed in with real inlays. If you need nickels and quarters your options will be limited. Some people use $5 -$1000 chips and use the $5 as nickel, $25 quarter, 100 as dollar etc.

If you decide to go the full custom route, take your time and keep tinkering. I wouldn’t suggest trying to replicate Paulson chips in the CPC tool. If you love the WTHC paulson Line then just buy those. You may spend some extra money, but it may save you some disappointment

Time passes but the phenomena remain the same. New cards, new rules and everything is hackneyed. I was still playing in the 2000s and I must even have the cards you mentioned. The last one comes from an Urza edition if I'm not mistaken. Like you, I would have a lot of research to do if I want to get back into the game. But first, I have to take my crates down from the attic to see if they contain any new treasures! :)

That’s wisdoms brother thanks. I guess I was thinking more along the lines of fantasy football where the 5s and 100s are perfect swapping out chips I don’t like. But do your point, authenticity is equally important.

WTHC isn’t my fav set although I love those 5s & 100s. I own the China clay Pharaoh’s because 5 years ago I fell in love with the Paulson Pharaoh’s. Maybe my next tourney set will be the originals. But for a cash set I just need to drop $1100 on a nice minty micro cash set I think and just get games going. Feeling more like a micro HSI RHC (edit: not THC) set might be a great way to just get some Paul sons on the table and get some cash games going. Thanks for the direction. CPC is missing some key Paulson colors.

don’t want you to get blasted in this site, so you should know that the HSI chips are not THC. Most people refer to them as RHC as you can see the hats are a little more round and there are some other mold differences. I own a set and think they are great, but you’ll find plenty of opinion on why RHC is inferior to THC. … which goes back to take your time to figure out what you really like

Ah thanks for not blasting. Ya actually I learned today that they are RHC and something about the lack of outer circle means the chips get chipped on the edges near the hats. So many terms to keep straight. Perhaps going with less used RHC will keep the cost down and get me into Paulson easier. Upgrade later. Thanks for helping me keep things straight. The acronyms are starting to blur together.

I think the chipping on the edges only happens with constant casino use, but others may disagree.

Ya I would think a minty RHC set at home would last a while with monthly home games. I’m starting to feel it, sweet spot of quality and investment. Prolly easier to resell in a few years with an upgrade.

So I'm the picture of great or terrible timing. I joined the week of the Tiger Palace sale and didn't know my ass from my elbow here in the PCF... this thread helped me so much and got me off trying to recreate a WTHC or Atlantic Club from a new CPC order... Completely missed Tiger, chased Jack Detroit's a bit til I realized no one's selling all the key pieces.

the set that got me interested in paulson chips a few years back was the Paulson Mold Pharaoh's but have always seemed out of reach. Any advise here? What would you say the per chip prices are on these? I've seen NCV and CV, are there variations? Are these lead free? This thread helped me out a ton, just looking for some advise. Would Paulson Mold Pharaoh's be a good buy right now?

You’re saying it like it’s a bad thing. We want lead ;) But yes, they are lead free.

If you really like them, they’re a good buy. They’re probably regarded the best among the Paulson chip mold sets. Personally, I think you could do better at that price point, but it’s all subjective of course.

I think it’s become a bit hard to speculate on prices lately. At the peak, which was recently, they used to go for around $4/chip (for sharp, mintish chips). Not a ton of sales of this particular set though and I’m not sure where the current state of everything has taken these.

Paulson mold pharaoh’s Regarded the best mold over the Suits mold Pharaoh’s as well? I guess it’s preference? Thx
