Hello PCF! Pretty new to the community and I'm stoked to learn more from you guys!

I'm looking to get my first set of Paulsons and I'm eyeing either the classics or some Jacks. I'd like to know what would be the price per chip for some Paulson Classics these days?

Welcome. Are you looking for prices on cash chips (.25 - 100) or tournament chips (25 - 5K)?

Sorry I wasn't specific, I meant cash chips! Do tournament chips differ much in value?
I’ll give the Jacks a shot (secondary market value).

.25: $8-11 per
1: $2-2.50 per
$5: $3.25-4.00 per
$5 GO: $2.00-2.50 per
$25 primary: $1.00-1.75 per
$25 secondary: $2.00-2.50 per
$25 GO: $1.00-1.50 per
$100 primary: $2.50-3.00 per
$100 secondary: $1.00-1.75 per

Every once in a while someone might offer them lower, but not very often. The chips were brought to market by @TheChipRoom , so if you go to their vendor page you can see what the original prices were - I believe there were 3-4 different sales.

The tournament chips are a lot more on average, ranging anywhere from $3.50 per ($500 secondary) all the up to $15/16 per ($1K secondary, both $5Ks). I’m not as familiar with the prices for the tournament chips though.

These were also cash chips, not tournament chips.
You’re right, forgot about the tournament set.

@jun when referring to tournament chips in my previous post, I’m actually talking about higher denom cash chips, which many people use as tournament chips.

Unfortunately, about $3 a chip.

Not for me, though. IMHO there are way better fantasy chips than the Classics line for the same price or cheaper.

That's interesting! What are some of your favorites? :)

Thanks for the breakdown! I'm thinking of building a low denom set and it looks like $1s and $5s are going to be the problematic ones. I don't mind primary $25s and secondary $100s. Although I must admit the $25 watermelons and primary $100s look sooooo good.

I guess averaged out it seems like they cost just a little bit more than the Classics?

Casino de Isthmus (otherwise known as CDI) are better value, IMHO. The 2005 iteration by Paulson and the BCC line cost less and look way better than Classics.

There's also Paulson WTHC around, too, and the Pharaohs.

Limited availability. Supply and demand drive most price points.

Just voicing my own opinion here, and I LOVE Jack chips, but the melons and Primary hundos don't work well together, IMHO! The nearly repeating edgespots don't lend themselves well to the set overall which features different style edgespots in each denom.

Just wanted to let you know, I agree the melons and Primary hundos are amazing and beautiful, but really don't work well together..

I know I'm odd in this regard, but hey, just wanted to share. I had them all, and shaved what I didn't like. Sold 240 Melons, kept a single barrel for sentimental value.

Well, I'm also kinda assuming that the Primaries (as a chip series) were designed together for a good reason. Visually, they work well together. There's probably less thought put into Secondaries because they don't really ever get into play.

I see your point! But I've already opted for the first option   Couldn't resist those melons.

Damn those 5ks are so sick. :nailbite:

I'm in the melon and primary $100 camp. I've played lots of tournaments with them together without issue. So in my opinion you made the right choice
