So I’m going to be in the Philly area on Saturday and will have about 5-6 hours to kill. Will be equidistant from both Parx and Philly Live.

Any recommendations of one over the other? Any tips for either I should be aware of?

Planning on playing 1/3.

Don't know anything about the poker scene except parx been around longer so probably a bigger cast of regulars. I prefer Philly Live. Nicer, cleaner, and seems to be giving out good promos because it just opened.

As someone who is going to visit the philly area soon and never been to a casino, mind if I ask what is a promo and what kind are Philly Live giving out?

They are running new promotions every week. One week it was luggage another week it was good vouchers. Obviously you have to play a little for more stuff but I'm pretty sure they start you off with $20 free slot play just for signing up. Can't promise that of course it was just what I got when it first opened. Check their website to see what it says.

I live in Philly and depends on whereabouts you will be. Parx is about 20 min outside of the city north and has a fantastic poker room. It runs a wide variety of games like PLO and Mixed. Lots of regs so be prepared for that. I haven't been to Live yet but it is brand new and the poker room looks nice from pics. Its actually located in Philly near the stadiums, so you wont be far from good food and other entertainment if you go with Live. Hope this helps!

Thanks! My start and end point will be Radnor, up on the Main Line. Based on Google maps, looks to be equidistant to both. Started tracking their wait lists on the Bravo app - may just decide based on which one seems to have less of a wait at the time I want to go.

Visited Philly Live for the first time today. Nice property. I’m from NJ and frequent AC but this place may pull me away when it comes to poker since it’s so much closer in proximity. Nice property. Clean. Good atmosphere. Poker room was pretty busy. Got lucky and had a good group of guys at a full table. Played 1-3 NL. No pictures of chips or the room, but I was in $200, out for $275. Any profit is always a win in my book.

i was at Parx today for a small session of poker (took a small loss of $34 after being down $300). Its my preferred poker room in Pa. I’m surprised about the smoking, I didn’t see anyone on the casino floor smoking. Not sure how they will maintain COVID numbers though it was 50/50 with masked folks.

Was at Live! this weekend for a brief stopover before and after the Green Day concert. Never played there but talked to a cool reg at the food court who had good things to say about the poker room, except that the waitress service was horrendous in there and you had to bring your own or plan to take breaks and get your own food and drinks at the food court. Said the action was fine but was looking forward to the soft weekend/tourist/concert action that night and Saturday.
