My mate is over in Vegas just now and I’ve asked him to get me a couple of racks of Paris chips. He’s asked at the cage and they said no.

Does it depend on who’s working that day or if he bungs them a twenty are they likely to comply? Or is a case of having to scrimp around the casino floor?

If "bunging" them a $20 means what I think it does, I don't think it will work. ;)

"Harvesting" rarely means buying in quantity from the cage. You need to be creative and persistent.

You can usually get 5 a time from the cage if you ask very nicely. It helps if you ask when there’s not a long line.

Best way to get chips in quantity is at the tables ... craps, BJ, pai gow, and the wheel game.

I’ve never had any success trying to buy chips at the cage at Paris. I think they’ve been trained to say no. The only way I’ve gotten mine have been from the tables.

If the cage worker is Male, has anyone sent a female to ask?

I am sure you will have much success with this strategy. When two of my young lady friends made a trip, I asked them to try their best to get a barrel of $1s from each of 10 Strip casinos. They got 9 without any hesitation or tip required. Only pushback was, of all places, MGM Grand. A few even volunteered to get the mint u circulated stock.

Nice strategy

I had a friend over in Vegas recently and, having told them the $20 cage tip trick, they were still told no and that they don't sell chips by the rack at the cage. In the end, my friend went to ten separate tables and bought $10 worth of chips at each table. Not sure if this helps?!

I got 20 at the cage once but tried 4 or 5 times and the other times they sold me 5 or told me to get them at the tables. It took me a lot of effort to get a little over 2 racks but it was well worth it.

When you ask a non-chipper to get you $300 of Paris chips and he has “an idea” to get fives instead of singles to “save space” :ROFLMAO:

He phoned me from the casino and could barely string a sentence together

Him “I can get you loads of fives”

Me “no just get me ones”

Him “but fives are better. I’ll get you fives”

Me “no get me ones not fives”

Him “ok I’ll get you ones and fives”

Me “just ones mate. I don’t want fives”

Him “ok I’ll just get... Wow check her out. She’s just wearing a bra”

Line goes dead... :banghead:

Those with keen observation skills will have noticed that the chips don’t add up to $300.

That’s what happens when ask a Scotsman so drunk he can’t bite his own fingernails to do a chip harvest for you...

This sounds exactly like something my halfwit, drunken mates would do. Top marks for the maths involved too :D.

at least he got the casino right :)

A recent tactic I’ve been using for harder to get chips is a slow craps table and throwing down $25 and ask for 20 singles and a $5 bet for the dealers anywhere they want on the table.

They know exactly what you are doing but a tip that could become $10 for a measly barrel of chips is usually enough to do the trick. If that bet loses, do it again, dealer is already hooked. sure a rack will cost you $125 but idk if you have seen prices around here - that’s a steal.

edit; idk about condition at Paris; but if they have a bunch of bicycle tires, this might not be the best approach

Paris chips are generally in at least decent condition. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen any bike tires. I think all would stand on edge. May have nicks/flea bites. But most are in pretty good shape.

Or you could throw down a $25 and ask for 4x$5 and 5x$1 and throw a $1 bet for the dealers... And then you get this:
