I've seen a lot of posts from people selling Par-a-dice riverboat casino chips. Are these chips no longer in play in the casino, and that's why so many people have these sets?

Yep, it closed and most of the chips were purchased by Jim at TheChipRoom and resold to chippers.

EDIT: Well, I thought it closed, but apparently not. They just must have replaced the entire rack with new chips, and sold off the obsolete ones.

Yes...their website is up with current hours, so it seems like they are still open. The only photo of chips I see on the site is a generic image with blank chips.

So...if someone happened to have a bunch of old chips, shouldn't be any issue to sell them? (n)

The casino did not close. It’s very much up and running, they just must have introduced a full new rack and sold the old ones.

If you have some to sell I’d sure be interested.

There have been at least three versions of chips -- THC mold, RHC mold, and the current house mold ("B" for Boyd Gaming) Paulsons, plus roulettes. Jim was supposed to get the first two, but ended up with just the RHC chips (plus the IHC $1000s).

There were some Chipco ceramic manufacturing samples produced, but dunno if any were ever used on the casino.

I remember seeing a para dice ceramic $5 chip....actually might have owned it at one time now that I think about it. Pretty sure it was from PGI adpfter they purchased the chipco assets

Yup sold em a while back

I played at the Par-a-Dice casino poker yesterday, it definitely isn't closed, they just changed their chips a few years ago. The new one's are not nearly as good looking as the old set.
