Mine Palais des Congres Paulson Set - VERY RARE! (1 Viewer)

Would you say these are more rare or less rare than the blue Riverside fives?

That is a good question. Maybe about the same, but the rub with the Palais is that the Palais chips only have denoms on them, no name, so they are hard to search for on eBay or the web.

This is an awesome chip...a good Paulson home set. I don't think I've seen very many of them. The Biggest Chipset thread on Chiptalk says that cpiaqq owns 1200 of them and that it was the only set. Is this set considered playable (if it is, then the info on Chiptalk is incorrect)?

I think we came to that conclusion. There are probably many sets out there, since they were for sale (i forget where), in bulk

I missed that...where was that discussed? Wasn't this a pre-GPI home set?

Ah. Interesting they would let a casino simply put a denom on the label like that.

I sold my chips to Stuey when cash-desperate. Damn I miss those chips.

The Palais de Congress is not a casino, it's a convention center. CPIAAQ, printed in UV on all the chips, refers to "Centre de promotion de l'industrie agricole et alimentaire du Québec Inc".

And now we know the REST of the story.

I knew it was a Canadian non-casino, but not the details. And I've wondered what your username represented for a very long time, but never asked....

This is one of the sets that ignited my chip obsession. There is (or maybe was) a gallery of pictures on CT that I loved looking at back in the late 2000s that had some beautifully shot pictures of these chips. I have a complete sample set, but that is likely the only set of these I'll ever own. Great chips and good luck with the sale!

Olivia Poker Halls were also $.60 each for mint. Kills me every time but the chip room has sorta returned that flava' every couple years with PCA's and Terribles.
