Didn't see the outcome until now. So glad to see this wasnt just a bad beat story. I like my line throughout this, but yours worked out well too, as long as you are willing to bluff catch.
 
In general, I like to put my foot on the gas early with over-pairs to the board. The same goes with flopping two pair. Hands like two pair or an over pair to the board are super strong on the flop but tend to only get weaker as the turn and river come as V can have more combinations of strong hands that win.

I think playing these types of hands passively just get you into sticky situations whereas its much easier to bet heavy early and charge the maximum to draws or single pair holdings.

I am open to being wrong as I am not an online pro or anything.
