Owner files formal petition to close Trump Taj Mahal casino (1 Viewer)

NJ regs re chips or not, no amount of ultrasonic cleaning could cleanse those chips. Seriously, they are brownfield superfund-level hookerjuice repositories.

Well if you're interested I'm gonna be in AC for the next week and a half or so. If you'd like me to pick you up anything let me know.

That goes for everyone btw!

I've been wondering what's going to happen to Taj Mahal's chips. That's a damn shame. Dirty or not, you know authentic Taj chips would fetch a nice price (hell, the Taj is featured in Rounders!)

I suppose my two $1s from a million years ago will have to hold me over.

Definitely the biggest loss to NJ's ridiculous destruction requirement since the Playboy chips. The Taj chips are my favorite AC chips with the Sands and the Borgata close behind.

Maybe, like the Playboys, some will survive and come onto market at ludicrous prices.

Is it too late for a heist? You gotta figure their guard will be down at the moment. There must be hundreds of thousands of chips in that place, with perhaps dozens of them in acceptable condition.

Heist? Someone would like a word with you Jim:

Someone straighten me out on NJ's gaming laws.

If I have chips from any NJ casino, I can cash them at face value forever and ever (or as long as NJ has a gaming commission, anyway)?

It depends on the casino and the circumstance of their closure.

For places that went bankrupt, like the Revel, no. But if you have a lot of chips, you could have filed a claim in bankruptcy court and gotten in line with the other creditors.

For casinos that close with permission but have other casinos still open run by the same management, you can redeem them there - for example, you can redeem Showboat chips at Bally's, Caesars, or Harrah's.

Trump Taj Mahal chips can now be redeemed at the Tropicana.

Chips from places like the Atlantic Club are no longer redeemable - there's no parent company still in business.

You're best off researching the details for any specific casino you're interested in.

Thanks, good to know (y)

I meant to thank you too when you first replied, but I got caught up reading about the Playboy trove that was dug up and how that got handled.
