i host 2 tables.

Table 2 - NLHE only
Blinds - $1/$1
Buyin - $20 - $300

Table 1 - Dealers Choice
Blind - $1 (plays like a 1/3 game)
Buyin - $20 - $500

i enjoy playing a .25c/.50c game but alot of my guys hate quarters so kinda rules it out. hints the 1/1 blind structure.

That being said, most of my regular crew isn't comfortable with losing more than $20 in a night, so 0.10/0.20 it is with $10 min/$20 max initial buy in with $50 max buy in/night when I host.

I'm totally a wimp--maybe from playing almost exclusively online (and my live is almost exclusively my son)--and so .10/.20 sounds about right to me with a group of friends.... But first I need to get friends.

10c ante 25c sb 50c bb was our serious game (No Limit games). People stopped talking and got serious. We start the night with 5c ante 10c sb / 25c bb and it is a fun social game.
Having Limit game at $1/$2 it gets a bit more serious.

People complain about antes on here but I find it really works for our game quite well.
I am also an anti same/same blinds.

Use whatever blinds or antes make the Plebs (Latin word, meaning the populace) behave seriously.:(

.25/.50 or 1/1. There’s no point in .50/1 in my opinion. It plays the same as 1/1 and the quarters just allow annoying players to make weird bets.

Anything less than .25/.50 and the game is a little too loose and anything more that 1/1 then you might as well take a trip to the casino and get the full experience. Of course this is just for the average, middle class, casual game. I’m sure there are some wealthy businessmen contemplating whether 50/100 or 100/200 is a better structure for their home game so it all depends.

What if you have .50 chips, not allowing .25 shenanigans?
It can play slightly lower than 1/1, depending, of course, on the min and max buy-ins (to keep a .50/1 game shallow, I would do something like $50min and $100 max)

I mean the pot being $2 as opposed to $1.50 at the start of the hand is not going to change the game that much. You can still keep a $50 min and $100 max buy-in on a 1/1 game. Plus it means that you don’t need to buy as many chips/denominations. The annoying part is that players start betting in all fracs just so they can get rid of them most of the time. There’s always those 3-4 players putting in a 3.50 raise with all .25 or .50 cent chips.

0.25/0.50 blinds are the best imo, for lower stake games. 0.1/0.2 is too slow and boring for me, unless it’s really low buy-ins.
