Obviously the main reason we like our chips (or at least for me) was to host a more authentic poker game. Thats what got me started, and unfortunately shortly after became a chipaholic. So now I look for every possible use to put my chips into play. For example in the board game PowerGrid, the chips are so much easier to deal with than cash.. Like monopoly. So I thought I'd start a thread on other poker chip uses. What the hell... we spend so much time building our sets... lets find more uses for them.

If this already exists somewhere, let me know, but however I was searching, I didn't find much.

We use them to replace the tokens in Machi Koro. Any game that has crappy paper tokens will be made better by the use of a fine casino chip.

Excellent for using in any board game or card game where you keep score. Instead of writing down scores, or moving a token around a scoring track, or handing out cardboard counters... use poker chips!

Likewise, excellent for replacing paper or cardboard money in any board game with paper money.

Likewise good for any game that uses generic counters or tokens.

And, of course, they're great for their original use - settling wagers in card games other than poker! For example, play Russian Chicago Bridge and have the losers pay the winners (in chips!) after every hand.

Just understand that in most cases you'll need dramatically fewer chips; don't expect to be getting your 1000-chip set into play just to keep score in Gin.
