Orleans Poker Tournaments (1 Viewer)

Anyone here play any of the non-hold em tournaments at the Orleans in Vegas? I'm usually a cash player but I think I might enjoy a tournament if its not hold em.

If you've played PLO, 8-game, HORSE, Omaha8, or Omaha8/Stud8 I'd be interested to know if you enjoyed it, number of entries, structure, or anything interesting.

They are fantastic!!! Usually a good turnout, want to say 80+ usually. Locals like them so that’s something.

Yeah, I played in a $100 O8 tournament that was a lot of fun! Around 100 runners.

For mixed game tournaments for recreational and semi-pro players, Orleans is quite literally one of the best locations in the world for them. Low price points, reasonable structures. The only down side is the nitty and regular player pool which can give LA a run for it's money in terms of grumpiness. The dealers are generally very good and the floor is friendly. Another minor downside is that it is open to the casino where people smoke, it's usually fine unless some asshat stands by the rail and puffs, which is rare because there are signs forbidding this.

Best place in Vegas for Mixed Game Tournaments. Dealers are good and table service is on point. I always enjoy playing in this Casino.

Thanks guys makes me feel better about planning on playing there. I've enjoyed the last couple PLO tourneys I've played in my local area so I think I'm gonna do that one for sure. Then maybe 8-game or HORSE.

That was the only thing I worried about, I know they have the most Omaha8 players there so I'm not sure I want to play the Omaha8 tourney lol.

Played the HORSE . @JacNoK, @SeekTheGrail and I all made final table

@SeekTheGrail and I finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.

There are mixed tournies at Green Valley Ranch as well.

I’ve only played two O8 tourneys and the one at the Orleans was my first. I cashed. You can compete just fine!

Orleans is fantastic for non HE tourneys, the regs really aren't that good and the tournament is about as good as it gets for a daily. When I lived in Vegas I nearly always played the Sunday HORSE tourney.

I play almost exclusively tournaments, because they're the most fun to me, and my hourly at various casinos is overall very good. The one exception is the Orleans. I haven't cashed there a single time, and I've played there probably 30-50 times. This is crazy considering my hourly at T.I. was close to $200 an hour with the same volume. They really are the nittiest of the nitty and also fairly grumpy which tilts me when I'm in town and have been playing mostly very friendly tourists. Still, I am determined, I will cash there eventually!

Lol. I’ve always thought it was easier for wild players to tilt nits than visa versa. Not saying you are wild player but that’s funny. I love messing with nitty locals. High entertainment.

I like the mixed game tourneys at the Orleans too. Good structures and very good dealers. One of the best run card rooms on offer for low stakes and Omaha 8.

I played the $400 HORSE event today. 296 players. We chopped it 4 ways for $11k ea. Good times.

I'm heading to Vegas next week and planned to play a couple of tourneys at the Orleans. Any place you have great tournaments AND bowl...that's like the casino equivalent of a hot dog roller.
