Been poking around at chairs recently - and seems most people are focused on finding used Gassers.

Has anyone ever tried to order a new set of Gassers? Would they do an order as small as 10?

And has anyone looked at using gaming chairs (e.g. Secret Lab - Titan, the DX racers they used at the WSOP final table, etc.)?

I think it depends on the style of your room. I am personally not a fan of how those high backed gaming style chairs look. And by gaming I mean video games.

I picked up some chairs from a local casino that re branded and they are super comfortable.

I've had good luck on Craigslist searching for banquet chairs, found 15 black padded vinyl in brand new condition for $150

Yep. Craigs or any local classifieds is a great option. Shipping chairs is so cost prohibitive so grabbing something local is the way to go. I just got lucky since a local casino was selling stuff off.

how did you go about getting them from casino did you just ask a floor guy ?

Interesting time for this to update. To close the loop, I now know for a fact Gasser will sell full customs to an individual ordering 10 chairs.

What was the cost? I had hear they were upwards of $200 a chair brand new

Depends on what you do for style finishes etc. If you are doing decent textiles, caster base, etc. it pushes higher than that. And then you.have freight shipping too.

A great deal, but not cheap. My first batch was $50 each. 20 chairs. From Joe Cada’s failed poker room in Detroit. They were in fantastic like new shape. I rented a truck and did it in 1 day. Also bought a Cada table for $300. My buddy still has it. The second batch were a little cheaper but needed a bit of cleaning/sprucing up. Those went in the back of my Explorer.

I’ve driven for chairs... it’s been a long time passion/search.

$350 Hons loaded into the back of my minivan Paid $9/each.

30 gassers into my truck (two trips). Paid $5/each

10 $300 cloth Hon chairs. Paid $10/each. Drove 2 hours each way. Eventually sold these chairs, since I wanted a better solution for chair storage (for my 2nd and 3rd tables) and these are not designed for staorsge. The gassers above filled this void.

Don't you mean your wife's mini-van? Otherwise you may lose your man card! :ROFLMAO:

Nope, was proudly MY Honda Odyssey, and there’s no minivan that can remove my man card from my wallet... to top that off, I sew, like musical theater, and love fruity umbrella drinks. Boom!

And yet, my man card sits unchallenged. Can’t judge a book by its cover (or choices in beverage). :)

When you're daughter's the lead in the show, gotta do what it takes. I've built many sets for many shows...

You can also check a restaurant equipment store if you have one locally. Sometimes you can get some pretty good "scratch n' dent" deals. That's how I got mine years ago. 10 chairs for about $100 and you can't even tell where the scratches/dents are (if any).
