There was some discussion a few months back about the CPC Jockey mold and its similarities to the Paulson H&C.

https://www.pokerchipforum.com/thre...e-to-fall-in-love-with-the-jockey-mold.10700/

For some time now, the idea of getting a rack of actual casino dimes has been appealing... but at $275 a rack, that's pretty prohibitive. This is our opportunity to get a rack (or two) of fractionals that will work well with a mixed set of TH&C Paulson Casino chips.

The names and denominations were selected in the design thread below... so we are past that stage.
https://www.pokerchipforum.com/thre...fractionals-group-design-and-group-buy.19873/

COST:
The cost per chip is based on the following factors (per the CPC website):
Solid Jockey mold chip: $1.05 per chip
Hotstamp process: $0.14 per chip
Hotstamp Setup Fee (initial): $26
Hotstamp Setup Fee (subsequent changes): $10.50
Hotstamp Die cost (assumed): $80

@David Spragg has expressed that we won't know the final per chip price until the order is placed. This is due to manufacturing factors pertaining to the subsequent charges on hotstamp setup and change out. Essentially, there are costs associated with using the same stamp on a different color chip, so it is not obvious up front if your batch will require the subsequent change charge of $10.50. Therefore the approximate cost below is based on the following assumptions:
1. Order assumes 720 total chips are ordered (6 participants ordering 120 each)
2. $26 setup fee for the first batch is broken into a $10.50 fee and a $15.50 fee. The $10.50 is applied to your order and the $15.50 is divided amongst the entire group. The $10.50 covers the cost of subsequent changes as well.
3. 2 participants for a given die design. Cost per participant is 80/2 = 40 or 40c per chip (100 chips).
4. $60 shipping from CPC to my location. This is divided on a per chip basis by participants.

Example:
I decide to order 120x Silver Shoe nickels. With the assumptions above, my cost is:
120x $1.05 = $126 (base chip cost)
120x $0.14 = $16.8 (hotstamping process)
120x ($15.50/720) = $2.58 (shared initial setup fee)
$10.50 (subsequent setup charge)
$80/2 = $40 (die cost)
120x ($60/720) = $10 (shared shipping fee)
Total cost for 120 chips: $195.38 or $1.63 per chip

Obviously this is an approximate cost and dependent on several factors. The primary factor is the die cost. With a third participant on that design, the cost drops to ~$181. If it turns out that your batch does not require the subsequent hotstamp setup fee, your cost would be reduced in that the prior run setup fee is shared between you and that participant. Example, you order the same color as another buyer. You share the $10.50 cost.

I think the cost listed above is a reasonable approximation. Please place orders with this in mind.

COLORS:
All colors are available for this order. You, THE BUYER, get to pick which color you want. The minimum order of a given color is 100. I recommend ordering at least 110 chips.

If you want to tinker with the chip design tool to help you determine your preferred color, I can send you the artwork file. Just PM me.

ORDERING INSTRUCTIONS:
This is the order thread, and as such, this is a commitment. I will keep the order thread open until July 1. At that point I will compute the preliminary cost based on the actual orders and collect funds. I expect to have funds collected by July 8 and place the order on July 10.

Please place orders only in this thread, and post only once. Edit your post rather than making a new one. Discussion should be contained in the design thread. Let's keep discussion in this thread to a minimum. Limited only to discussion pertaining to questions on ordering.
Place orders using the following format:

Denomination:
Quantity:
Chip Color:
Hotstamp Foil Color:

If you want sample sets, or a quantity less than 100. Post in this thread with your order. For quantities less than 100, you are limited to piggybacking on someone else's order.
Sample Costs:
$1.40 per chip Silver Shoe Nickel

$1.50 per chip Silver Shoe Quarter
$2.00 per chip Red's Tavern Dime.

Bumping this just for visibility

If you are interested in samples, post your interest. One of each... or as many as you want of existing designs... a barrel, whatever.

I'm considering switching my nickles from Lavendar to Blurple. Will need to take a look at color samples when I get home.

No worries. We will have a period of confirmation that my spreadsheet is correct before we actually place the order. Those are the two colors that I am struggling with too. #undecided

Just curious...,
if someone wants just a barrel or 2, how does the setup / change cost fees work.. does someone ordering 25 chips get hit with the same 10.50/per fee that someone ordering a few hundred chips has ...?

You won't get hit with the $10.50 setup fee because you are effectively adding on to someone else's order. You are limited to selecting a combination that someone else ordered however. You will pay the per chip portion of the die cost however.

Regarding the Reds Tavern dimes. If I end up being the only one to order these, I will cancel that order. If you are on the fence, jump on over.

I would like a sample barrel (at this point, might up it later) to check this mold out. @NiceShot has good tast in music and chip choices, could I get 10 each of what he is ordering? If so:

Denomination: 5 cent
Quantity: 10
Chip Color: Blurple
Hotstamp Foil Color: Silver

Denomination: 25 cent
Quantity: 10
Chip Color: Dayglo Pink
Hotstamp Foil Color: Silver

Four more days. Get those orders in. Let me know if you want additional samples. I am out of town for s few more days. I am watching the thread, but won't be able to update the spreadsheet until I return.

I would like to edit my order down to 110 chips. Still possible? I'll edit my post to reflect the changes.

I'm confused on the $10.50 for each set of chips. If I read the CPC website correctly, the $10.50 is for each dye change. If 6 people are all getting nickles, regardless of chip color, why is there a dye change charge for each order? Shouldn't the dye change piece just be $26 + $10.50 + $10.50 divided across all those who ordered?

Just a clarification here. You will also pay the portion of the setup/change cost commensurate with the number of chips you ordered relative to the total quantity of that style. Essentially, you will share the cost of the change with the member who's order you are piggy backing on. You are not splitting it equally, but based on your number of chips.

i.e. If a member was ordering 200 chips and previously he was covering the entire $10.50 change cost. Now you want to get 10 chips of that same style, the per chip cost of the change is $10.50/210 = .05 per chip. Therefore the 200 chip order will pay $10 towards the change/setup and you will pay $0.50 towards the change.

I'm confused on the $10.50 for each set of chips. If I read the CPC website correctly, the $10.50 is for each dye change. I received clarification from @David Spragg that there are setup adjustments required when stamping the same die and foil on a different color chip. Evidently, different colors require different die pressures in order to produce good stamps. It is this additional setup that is not obvious. Additionally, it is not always necessary (depending on colors). That is why I am charging for it and if the final quote indicates it is not necessary, the members who ordered colors that can all be grouped into a single setup will share the single setup cost as described above. The additional money paid will go towards the re-shipping cost from my location to yours. Hope that clears it up.

Let me know if you are still in for the .10 Red's taverns, & if so the economics of getting 2 Blurple barrels added...

If you want to add 40x Red's dimes, the updated pricing is shown below. Let me know if you are interested and I will update it officially. There may not be a die change cost between these two colors... see above. That could result in an ~$10 savings.

** Put me in officially for 45 Blurples ..
Hopefully little or no die change cost for possible adjust of pressure between colors, vs a full die change swap out . But I'm in either way..
