Moments ago, I sent the latest order for some Key West Resort & Casino chips to the good folks at Classic Poker Chips. This time around, we're getting 10,000 chips.

Just over a month ago, we received 4,000 chips from Classic. Their quality was unmatched, and they've been selling very quickly and are now nearly gone. (I think 2,000 of those chips went in three days.)

I had hoped that shipment would last at least a few months, but interest in Classic's great chips and in Key West seems to be increasing every month. It was clearly time to go to "the next level" and order 10,000 chips. Here's hoping that even that number increases in the future. Meanwhile, an order for 10,000 chips should keep us well-stocked this summer and through 2016.

Thank you to all here -- members who've bought Key West chips, and all of you who have it on your "someday" list.

Easily the best chips currently readily available for purchase. Great to hear business is good enough that you can keep this amount of stock on hand.

Dennis, Do you have any gift shops in Key West carrying sets of these ... I could imagine they would be a "gimmie" to tourists & visitors there ..
( Married or honeymooning couple gets off the cruise ship ... Wife starts buying clothes, local art ect .. Husband:, " Hey honey, look at this! I want a set of these real casino quality chips, .. Key West too! , They don't sell anything like these at home ..." Wife: "Go Ahead & get them, enjoy".)

For some time, we had playing cards and chips on sale at The Key West Toy Factory on Front Street. (It's now closed.) We still have some playing cards in one of the bars on Duvall, and we've shipped some to a couple of the bed and breakfasts in Old Town to give out to guests as souvenirs.

I've taken sample chips and cards into most of the shops in Key West. Store owners generally don't want to buy poker chips at the prices we're use to here on PCF -- in Key West or elsewhere.

Incidentally, I bought my first set of Key Wests because it's where my wife and I went on our honeymoon.

It's still one of our favorite places.

I Haven't been to Key West myself .., but I would assume a set of KW chips in a case would be a fit for "higher end" Dartboard/Pool Table type stores, and stores where the smallest trinkets for sale might be $50 or more ...
The gift shops with the $2.49 made in China Tea mugs and straw hats , probably aren't a good fit :) ...
But there must still be some higher end stores around the country that should have the clientele for a quality set of chips ..

Once, while visiting Los Angeles, I went with a friend to a shop where his wealthy father had suits made on Rodeo Drive.

When we walked in, they walked us around a bit, then we went upstairs for a cup of tea in an amazing room with beautifully engraved English shotguns and hunting memorabilia all around. After tea, I think I bought a $90 tie.

They give you small gift bags when you exit, so it looks like you bought a bunch of stuff.

That's the place for some Key West chips.

There are actually very few representations of all the current Key West denominations.

Here's a new edited mock-up from CPC showing all the chips.

I'll add it to the OP.

Seems to be a Photobucket issue...pics in my account there aren't loading tonight, either. I can log into it and it states they are there, though. Bit of a nuisance.

I see them, and they're still wonderful. I collect very, very few non-casino chips (less than 4 sets), and the only one decorating the wall is the Blue $1 chip.

Dennis won't be getting that one back.

Have you thought about inserting a small brochure into the card boxes that you supply to the hotels? You could include mockups of your chips and a link to your website and it might generate some traffic from guests who enjoy the island and your cards.

I don't understand how 10k chips lasts very long. What is the typical order size? It must be 300?

I hope 10,000 chips don't last long at all. If they go quickly, our next order will be larger -- 15,000 or 20,000.

Average order size looks low because of the number of people who buy samples, and even single chips.

Customer 1 collects one of each chip, and orders a sample set of 12.
Customer 2 orders one blue $1 chip to add to his sample set.
Customer 3 orders 500 chips.

The average of the three orders is only 171 chips.

From 2012 to 2014, we sold an average of 300 chips per month.
In 2015, it was around 500 chips per month.
This year, it's over 950 chips per month to date.

Our largest single order was 1,600 chips. Smallest was (of course) one chip (and that's OK).

Those last 2 paragraphs were the kind of rough numbers I was looking for. Glad to see a healthy interest in quality chips.

Key West's are the best option for top quality chips when your group is still growing. Unlike CPC customs, doing minor add-ons is a piece of cake because you can simply buy a rack or 2 as the group grows.

Or do what I'm doing, and buy a 5000 chip set from CPC to last a lifetime.

The Key Wests are probably a more rational decision.

I know the literal definition. I would guess that we all lack the rational to understand what are better choices financially...after all, we are obsessed with poker chips.

I was trying to make a joke, since I meant rational in the other sense in my first post.

I am really bad with money.
