Opinions on the Paulson Majestic Star cash set (1 Viewer)

Most of the BACC $5 are in the better condition and not worn condition plus they had the 12 zodiacs animals

Being Chinese I have collected 2 rack of BACC $5 for the set (only pic I can find are these pre-cleaned chips)

And the Star of the set is no doubt the $100

You are right.
Just sorted the 2 racks. The 2 barrels of BACC are higher then the standard 5s.

Ich will try to clean the BACC‘s tomorrow or on Thursday and oil them. Will Post an update here!

Personally I prefer ceramics or even cheaper entry level plastics over some heavily used paulsons like these.

Pros and cons for me on the majestic star cash chips:

ProsCons
CheapUgly inlay
ClayDifferent inlays (red/black denom and such) not cohesive.
Hundo has nice spots 1s and 5s especially beat up to hell
Way different stack heigts from denom to denom because of uneven wear
Nasty old smoke smell (or so I've heard)
Metal flecks
Boring colors/spots

That said, taste and judgement on feel is subjective. I know many members are very happy with these chips.

Definitely consider checking them out before you buy a full set. It might be worth it to buy a barrel or so to get the feel for what these are before you go for a full set, IMO.

Great take on them!

Definitely would not say mint only, i’d be happy with a bit of wear on a set of Paulson's given the right price and how severe the wear was, but after some advice from people here it looks like these are just too worn for them to be worthy of a purchase I would be satisfied with, I quite liked the look and wear on the HSI on apache but unfortunately they sold. I'll just hold out for now.
What about the wear level concerns you?

All subjective……. I can be subjective too  :ROFLMAO:

Mine are all leaded red denom’s

Mine are spotless

Mine don’t stink

I actually like the wear, as I have epic mint paulsons too, and like variety

Mine are beautiful to me, especially my GO chips, because I love seeing 1996

:)

I was looking at these on the Apache site too. I spoke with another PCF member about them, and think I'll purchase used Paulsons from someone on PCF when I'm ready. That being said, the Indiana Grand $25 chips are in good shape and $180 for a rack is a decent price for those -- although I'd probably re-label them haha.

I am a confirmed mint/near-mint Paulson THC chip snob, but I just wanted to point out to @Enigma that there is a huge difference between used/worn Paulson clay chips and those that are worn out and used up.

Especially RHC chips, as @upNdown pointed out earlier. Worn-out RHCs are the worst.

Only way to tell if you are in the near-mint/played camp or casino-used/worn camp is to get samples of both. Even with overseas shipping costs, it's gonna be cheaper than buying an entire set that you very well may find quite distasteful.
