Opinions on the Bellagio? (2 Viewers)

Bellagio is a class hotel with a great location and poker room. I haven’t stayed there in many years. The last time I was spoiled with a strip/fountain view room.

There’s a lot of incredible options. I’ve heard great things about the Cosmo and the Aria.

@Mongoose @megarises @coolguy101 @VealDonPeppe

Great minds think alike, clearly; Venetian was our second choice, as we found an insane deal which included a week there with breakfast and direct flights from the UK for about $915!

For our first time in Vegas, however, a Fountain View was a must, hence the Cosmo. Plan to play plenty of poker at the Venetian though, for sure.

Eggslut is good.

I basically always breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi at Paris. They have a fantastic bloody mary, you never have to wait long to get a table, you can sit outside, I like the food. AND YOU CAN HARVEST PARIS $1 before and after breakfast.

@jr8719

Can't go wrong with cosmo, especially with all the amazing food options there. Wicked Spoon is a must. As is Eggslut and Hattie B's chicken. Have a great trip!
Just Googled Hattie B's... Daaaaaaamn! Would love to do Wicked Spoon, for sure, but I can't imagine buffets will be open by next May?

Yeah, only just came across Mon Ami Gabi last week, but that's been added to the breakfast list, for sure!

Have either yourself or @VealDonPeppe eaten at Prime or Spago? We want at least one meal sitting outside on the patio with a view of the fountains, but can't decide?

Another +1 for Mon Ami Gabi. Since our first time there maybe 15 years ago, we haven’t made a single Vegas trip without brunch a there.

have not tried the two places listed, but did eat at Picasso and it was one of our all time favorites. We are inside with a view of the fountains, but I’m pretty certain they have a patio as well.

Love Wicked Spoon also, but yeah, I don’t think buffets will re open for a while

Yeah, was considering Picasso, too — although a little too refimed for our tastes! Anything on the Mon Ami menu you'd particularly recommend?

I've stayed there when work was footing the bill for an industry conference, the room was alright but not nearly as nice as I thought it would be given the glitz of the rest of the place. My boss' boss stayed at Palazzo and we had a group meeting in his room/suite one morning, it was insane.

I've stayed at Aria with the wife, a much nicer room and floor/lobby/restaurants imho.

When I go with buddies we stay at Bally's and barely spay any time in the hotel/casino so who cares?

Table staff pretty much anywhere is friendly and professional up and down the strip, I don't think you'll find a huge change there if that's something you care about. I mostly play craps and the fastest/best/however you care to rank them, craps dealer I've ever seen was at the Cromwell(dice would hit the wall and land, stock man would call out the number, and you'd look down and your payout was sitting on the felt in front of you, she was already done) and they have good tables for roulette, craps, blackjack if those are your thing. Best dealers for chatting with are down on freemont, the old guys who've been dealing for 40 years and just crack jokes the entire time.

I think I always end up getting a croque madame. My wife always gets something different, it’s always great. And I’m not really a Bloody Mary expert, but I always get one when we’re there and really enjoy it!

I'd definitely go Spago, my meal there was pretty amazing. Prime is great too but if I had to choose one I'd go for Spago. Prime is better for more of a traditional steakhouse style meal. Both stellar options for a fountain dinner. All this talk is making me hungry lol.

I'd eat myself to death
Just like Pizza the Hutt

Cheers for the thorough info — hugely appreciated. The hotel you were on about not living up to expectations in your first paragraph, did you mean The Venetian?

Need to learn how to play craps before we go as it looks like a lot of fun. Funny you should mention the casino at The Cromwell as that is one that I've eyeballs already — love the vibe there. Am I right in thinking they have $5 blackjack and craps there, too?

You had me at Croque...

In the strange hall thing that connects Paris and Bally's is a crepe place. I basically eat breakfast there most days.
We both love crepes, so will add that to the list — cheers!

Yeah, that's what I was more inclined to choose. I love it when people give you a definitive answer to make your choice much easier — so thank you.

Carbone by Aria. Oyster Bar at Palace Station. Carson Kitchen by old town. I could go on and on.

I can't live in that town, I'd eat myself to death.
That's our plan...

More restaurant recommendations:

Cut at the Palazzo, favorite steakhouse by a mile

Yardbird at the Venetian, southern cuisine and one of the more popular spots on the strip.

I seriously go to Vegas for the food alone lol

Every morning I’m in Vegas I go here for the bagels and lox and the Bloody Mary. Sit on the patio and enjoy the morning.

And it’s crazy how we are talking about the B being older and outdated. LOL. Not saying I disagree but it opened in1998! Vegas, keep up or get left behind.

Ooooooof, Yardbird has been added firmly to the top of the lunch list — looks incredible!

Hahah, ditto... I'd happily stay for two weeks, just to try out more food places. I'll post the final food list nearer the time!

As classic and timeless as the Bellagio is, consensus seems to have it that they have taken their foot off the gas a little, with their standard rooms lacking a little by today's standards.

That's easy. Start with minimum place bets on the 5-6-8-9 and put the dealers up for $1 on each. They will be happy to show you how to play.
EDIT: Don't put any money on the prop bets in the middle

Basically this. Go to a table when it isn't packed with players, ask the dealers how to play. They won't steer you wrong.

I've eaten at Yardbird, it was good, but I'm glad I wasn't getting the bill, it was a lot, so good but not what I'd have wanted to spend my money on.
