I have a beloved secondary Empress cash set. Currently I used what I believe are sky blue solid THC roulettes from the same casino as my frac.

Was really close to pulling the trigger on sending them to gear for milling and labels. Although I always thought a 312 spotted chip would look great.

That’s when @RainmanTrail offers up the outpost chips. I felt the $1s could make a nice frac in my lineup. Coordinated a group to buy one of the sets just so I could grab the $1s.

Now that they are here I’m not so sure. I have used the sky blue for so long they almost seem too dark. I literally got them today so they haven’t been cleaned yet or anything.

Now on to the pr0n:

Love to hear opinions

Do you play them.as quarters or $.50? Domt have a pic right now can post but that yellow edge spot looks damn close to the Cliff casino bright yellow $.50 that would compliment that set very nicely. Nice set sir!!

I use them as quarters. @ReallyGoodUsername I had over 400 $1s at one point. Sold most of them and instantly regretted it. Ended up buying a ~1000 piece set just for the ones. I love these chips, they aren’t going anywhere.

@Ben8257 I originally wanted yellow roulettes but couldn’t find any. How available are the cliff’s?

Solid blue. The Outpost just don't seem to fit in as well. But those roulette chips really look like they match up against the blue on the $5 nicely.

Okay so the blues may just be perfect but I’m trying to find a spotted chip. Grabbed the post 50c. They are noticeably lighter (leaded vs unleaded) compared to the empress. I think they are nice but still thinking the blues are better. Thoughts?

I'm not sure if it is leaded vs unleaded exactly - but the Post chips are C&J, which definitely have a different texture, sound, and feel, even compared to a Paulson of the exact same weight.

Edit: and +1 for a solid frac

I didn’t realize they were C&J. They have a much lighter feel to them than the empress chips

Yeah you can see the difference in the hat and cane stamp. The only way I can really describe it is as more crisp. Yeah I have a few racks of C&J $5s that are the exact same weight as Paris $1s I used to have, yet they "felt" lighter when I handled them. You should weigh them and see, you might be surprised.

BLUE, these look great... with the solid it will be easy to see a dirty stack..

This is just my opinion.. I am very fond of the Empress chips...

I agree. And I also think if you have Empress branded roulette chips, that you shouldn't mill them and put a new inlay in the middle. These are better as is.

i want them denominated though. I have about 2.5 racks and was only going to do 120 or so. My players after years still ask “what are the blue ones worth”.

You could prob pick up some used solid Flamingos relatively inexpensively. A little darker blue but would save you from having to mill the hotstamps.
