One night in Cologne, Germany - Oct 15th 2022 (1 Viewer)

I've convinced our swedish BCC expert and running enthusiast @Eriks and @MrsEriks to visit the beautiful city of Cologne for some sightseeing, local beer and - you guessed it - some poker!

Since @MrsEriks doesn't seem very interested in a tour through my chip vault, she agreed to let Erik have one night off and this is where you guys come in!

On October 15th 2022 I wanna invite some friendly people from PCF to have an enjoyable day of poker in the Lovejoy residence - which is just a 85qm (~900 square feet) appartement. That means seats will be quite limited and I can't offer over night accommodations.

I'll be opening the doors at 3pm and have one 9 handed and one 6 handed table open for some NLHE and mixed games shenanigans until at least midnight.
We'll be ordering takeout and I'll sponsor beers and soft drinks for the day.

Stakes:
Unlike in the US, you rarely find games among friends over 0.10/0.20 in the German homegame scene.
Since this is by design an international meetup and I enjoy playing a little bigger than that, here's what I'm proposing:

I'd like to offer .25/.50 for the NLHE portion of the day and .75/1.5 limit (3 chip game with quarters) for the mixed games.
I'm gonna set up two tables so there is the option to switch games on one or both of the tables.
If there is interest to play bigger towards the end of night, that is perfectly fine with me as long as everyone at the table agrees.

I'd like to keep the game friendly for all participants. Just shooting the shit, talking chips and playing cards.

Accommodations:
There are a few hotels in walking distance, like the "Hotel im Leskanpark" if you feel like coming from far away for just the one day.

I wasn't expecting the amount of interest in my little 1 day event, so I decided to open a second 6 player table for the meetup.
That gives me a comfortable player count of 9 + 6.

Starting on Oct. 15th at 3pm and there will be no hard end time. I'll keep the doors open as long as there are players willing to play.

Everybody who by now showed just a smidge of interest in attending will be offered a seat at the table. Seats still open by Sep 15th will be given to my local regulars.

We'll be playing on the Bullenrunde table that I've built last year.

If I decide to set up a second table it will either be a guest table or my custom flamingo poker mat.

Chip sets:
I plan to play on both the flamingo and the mixed THC set. Depending on what the majority wants we can also get the Bullenrunde or the Isle of Capri sets into play ofc.

I’m in Frankfurt for about 30 hours just wandering around, it’s sometime around there, will confirm date when I get home. Oh wow that’d be crazy fortunate if this is the right day. Fingers crossed

Edit: It looks like I’m scheduled to get there on 17th but could switch it up if there’s room.

Edit2: my wife says the fare difference for the same flight but two days earlier is an extra $3000. I think I should have told her this was for something other than poker/beer. Well played, wife . Next time, fellas

Cologne is almost 2000 years old and was founded by the Romans during the occupation of the woodlands of old Germania.
He says proudly, concealing the fact that he was born in a different city and only moved here 12 years ago.

This depends solely on the sleeping arrangements of my wife and kids.
If I get them to visit my parents overnight, we can play all night. If not, there will be a hard stop at around 1am.
I'll have this figured out by August 15th.

Sounds absolutely perfect for me. I host the SEK equivalents of 0.1/0.2 or 0.5/0.5 and I have attended another game that’s 0.5/1 a few times when I’ve felt degen enough. Rarely do limit but when we have, it’s been either 0.5/1 or 1/2

I wished I can find more microstake game, you rarely find any stake lower than $1/$2 home game in Singapore with the average stake keep increasing

Used to be $1/$1 is the norm later on became $1/$2 and now $2/$2 and they mostly played like $2/$5

My 50c/$1 is consider micro stake to many people around here
