Do you have pictures of the chips? I am interested in this post since I also own bud jones chips.

A picture would help, just to let us know which line of Bud Jones chip we are talking about. Different lines have different characteristics.
Would be nice to know which line (version) of Bud Jones chips you are referring to... big difference between S2’s and V7’s etc IMO

The 1's and 5's from this post:
If yes, then it looks like a mixture of V6 and V7, both of which are notorious for the suction effect (although I would've expected casino used chips to be broken in...)

The California Grand casino also uses Bud Jones for lower denominations.
Whereas Lucky Chances is a hot mess that employs a mixture of Bud Jones, ceramics, and RT Plastics.

Sounds like u're becoming a true chipper at heart @StatTracker. If u wanna avoid plastics, venture outside of Emeryville & u'll encounter clay chips at several casinos such as Casino M8trix, The Palace, and Casino Real.
Ty, will check it out

I have a few sets of Abiatti roulettes that I use which are plastic. I give them a dry wash in a mixture of baby powder and corn starch then wipe them all down. Works great for a while, then I do the dry wash again when they start getting sticky.
Trying this weekend. Much appreciated

Yup, V7s. Why not hold on to them for the moment, and compare them to the S2s that will be coming (soon) in the Sample Set that you signed up to receive. I think you will find there is quite a bit of difference in their comparative slipperiness and stackability.

i dealt 21 with these for a few years at this place. idk so much the 1 on the right but the 1 on the left, the green is a separate piece. i've seen 'em broken. sometimes a little quirky to handle on the live games at speed

Advice for cutting accurately?

you mean as in "cutting chips" as in proving out amounts? or, cutting them up to see if they're printed?

Bud Jones chips are great. You should have stopped after cleaning them though. The slippery stacks were an indication that they were clean. Running them through the ultrasonic was a mistake. Oiling them afterward was a bigger one. Not sure what you were hoping to accomplish by oiling them since they're plastic, not clay. Now you have a mess to clean up :( Good luck. I don't envy trying to remove all that oil.

you get hands for it. kind of an intangible that comes from a lot of handling. you know, one day you notice they haven't flown across the table for a while. but, then you think about it & they do
