$100 is what the barrel strengths sell for around here :(

Didn’t know 4R was starting to do regular single barrels other than the standard OBSV. I hope they continue putting out the remaining 7 recipes as core release single barrels. I’ll be all over that if my taste for bourbon returns…I love their single barrels!
I heard that’s the plan. All recipes, all single barrel, and all 100 proof

My favorite “shelf” pour of the year. I put shelf in quotes cause it’s not easily found on the shelf
Agreed. The week it came out, my local store didn't have a limit, so I bought two. After tasting it, I went back for more and they were out. Been on the lookout for more ever since. Snagged one more when I was on vacay in MO over Christmas. Would like a few more. Bottle #1 is gone, and #2 is about 1/3rd gone. I would make this the equivalent of my daily drinker bourbon if I could find enough of it.

Wasn’t planning on picking up more Bourbon, but just saw that Blanton’s Original Single Barrel is on sale here for $75 (normally well north of $100 a bottle), limit of 3 bottles.

I haven’t tried it yet personally - worth grabbing at that price?
I personally don’t care for Blantons but IF I could grab 3 at $75 which is retail here, I’d grab them.

You could easily sell one or all at cost to a friend(s) that likes it…OR…be a real good friend and give them to your bourbon drinking friends as birthday/Christmas gifts. Both of those options are usually what I do with Blantons and Eagle Rare when I find them at retail.

Your third option is to drink 1 or just eventually drink all 3 :cool

Good advice above. 3 for $75 each is an absolute no-brainer.

If it was me, I'd sell one at secondary, then one to a friend at cost to make back most or all of your cost. Then keep the third just to have it, even if you don't love it. It's a great bottle to get out when you have friends over who will be impressed by it. And it would be basically free.

Best Friday morning lucky stop ever. Snuck back a little later for a second Stagg at msrp :bigbucks:

They also had a barrel strength for like $105. I was like WTF???? Lol it's literally sitting next to the same bottle at half the price.

A few stores fairly close to me have all three of the 15.xxx Octos in stock but I’m hesitant to pull the trigger on one of them…15.1 is $205, 15.2 is $245 and 15.3 is $280. I grabbed the 2025 release of Port Charlotte 18yr instead.

Are the Octomores really that good? The PC18 was $200, so I guess I shouldn’t balk at the msrp price tags the Octos have.

Octomores are very good. Some better than others, obviously.

I tend to like the .3s a little better than the others. 6.3 and 7.3 are my favorites of the annual release, the goats so to speak. Some years the .1 and .2 are also exceptional.

The Port Charlotte cask exploration series is phenomenal as well.
