Just how many different “Star” sets are there? This company must have planned on having a large fleet of casino cruise ships! :D:whistle: :whistling:
 
As I understand it, there were three boats: Empress Star (one cash set, two tourney sets), Aurora Star (one cash set, one tourney set), and Pacific Star (one cash set). Paulson chips were ordered for the first two, and Bud Jones chips for the third. A 43mm Paulson tourney set was also planned for the Pacific Star, but was never ordered.
 
Just crazy to order all of those chips and the business somehow never even started. Stockholders be like WTF you got chips but no boats?!?

I remember when the rules were different, places were allowed to order before the license was approved, then for whatever reason it did't get approved and chips hit the market. PNYs right?

Yup. Somebody paid for those PNYs, then *OOPS*.
 
this may be a dumb question... but were these chips modeled after specific chips from other locations?
if so, which?

Hmmm. I'm actually not overly fond of the quarters and $1s.

But if I had just two more barrels of the hundos, I could ditch the quarters and $1s and make a sweet tournament set...

I thought so after just seeing the single chip pictures, and I'm not even remotely a big BJ fan. Stacks and racks are stupendous -- I can't imagine how spectacular they must be irl.

I think about 100% of the posters on this forum would take the "chips first, boats and license later" approach if they were in the cruise ship business.

How many different DBs were made? Were they done individually for each Star or just this one to cover them all? Anyone have extras? :)
