Not really impressed with tournament director software. Any interest in this? (1 Viewer)

I can't seem to change time in a level, is that on its way? Sometimes you need to adjust the time when running a tourney. E.g. if the timer was paused during the break due to a combination of pre-tourney tacos and just a single toilet, and you forget to turn it on after the break, then you might want to skip ahead X minutes.

Just published version 5.0.0+267 to the web, iOS, and Android with the following changes:
1. Removed the 10K and 50K chips, added 10 and 25K chips.
2. Added a button to the timer screen that allows adjustment of the time.
3. Finished adding support for these languages: English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese (Mandarin). The translations were done using AI, so if anyone sees any problems, please let me know.

For the open source project I work on the AI translations were pretty decent, and then crowd-sourcing refinement of the translations to our community got us pretty far. Also meant the languages people cared about most got translated first =) crowdin is the site/service we went with but there are a few. Just something to consider anyway =)

And just for reference, here are links to the apps:

Web: pokerclubhq.com

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.robinapps.pokertimer

iPhone and iPad: https://testflight.apple.com/join/RsZJEMVY

Important note for iPhone and iPad: Installing the beta overwrites our free Texas Holdem Poker Timer app on the device you install it on, and the beta does not yet support importing any of the tournaments or settings you have in the old app. However, the tournaments and settings from the old app are not lost. If you reinstall the latest version of the app from the App Store, over the beta version, your tournaments and other settings will be accessible again. Important: don't delete the beta version, or your tournaments and settings from the old app will be deleted as well.

Ron, I am sure it is the same but just to confirm, if you have the paid version of the IOS app does it still work the same way (will reload saved tournies once reinstalled?)

If you have the "Texas Holdem Poker Timer" app installed and you've purchased any of the advanced features such as "Remove Control" or "Advanced Player and Table Management", etc., if you install the beta version of our new Poker Club HQ app, it will overwrite the Texas Holdem Poker Timer app. And since the new app doesn't yet convert the old data (tournaments and other settings) to the new format, you won't have access to them in the new app at this time. If you reinstall the non-beta, store version, of the Texas Holdem Poker Timer app over the beta app, you will gain access back to all your tournaments and other settings, and all your in-app purchases will work as they did before. If you delete the app though, as is always the case, the data will get deleted, and if you reinstall the regular app after that, you will still have access to all your in-app purchases, but not any tournaments you had before you deleted the app.

If you have the "pro" version of our app, which is a separate app named "Texas Holdem Poker Timer Pro", installing the beta version of our new app will not overwrite that app. You will still see it's icon and can run it normally.

Once I have all the features of the old apps implemented in the new app I will replace both the regular app and pro app with the new app, and at that point the new Poker Club HQ app will automatically convert tournaments from the old format into the new format along with other settings so no data will be lost. It will also honor all in-app purchases so all functionality will be equivalent, or better because the new app will have better implementations of the same features.

Does that answer your question? If not, I can go into more detail... :)

yes, it does. I have the paid “pro” version so this is what I needed to know. Thanks!

I LOVE the Tournament Director software.

Does it have a flashly UI? No.

But it works, and works well, and allowed me to manage my league nearly effortlessly, once I had the hang of it.
Yeah it's got a little bit of a learning curve but once you get it, it makes it a breeze. Bonus points for being able to add your own sound bytes and event triggers. My last tournament a week ago when a player busted out, the event trigger was the The Price is Right wrong answer horn.

I use that sound a lot also for knockouts. :ROFLMAO:

For the web app, I can customize the chips, how do I display them on the screen?
The latest version (5.0.0+269) shows the chips on the timer screen (you may need to refresh the web page to get the latest version):

Just wanted to let you know I downloaded the android version on my tablet and I already like it enough to use at my next tournament. (Previously using Blinds are up, which is okay, but I already like this app better.)

I am still trying to learn some of the in-and-outs and I may have some feedback on settings as I go, but I was able to input my structure and custom chip colors pretty easily. I will also look at the web based one later.

Do you plan to release this as a download for off-line computer use?

So far this has been exciting!

You can install PokerClubHQ.com as an app using most browsers, then it will work offline!

Installing PokerClubHQ.com as an app:
Safari: https://support.apple.com/en-us/104996
Chrome: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/9658361
Edge: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...oft-edge-0c156575-a94a-45e4-a54f-3a84846f6113

The current version does not need an internet connection at all. Once I add features that require an internet connection (like our old app's remote control feature), those features won't work without an internet connection, but the rest of the app will continue to work.

There is not currently, but that is on my to-do list for a future update.
If you are able to implement a feature where folks can add depictions of their own custom chip sets (or other chip sets) to the program that is going to be very popular around here...lol.

I have been checking in on the Beta and it is starting to take shape and looking good. Once you get to the point of adding in the seating features from the existing, old app, please look into the option to manually assign a player to a specific seat/table without it defaulting to just the order assigned and add in some way to set up bounties and keep track of them. Much appreciated.

Thanks for all of you hard work. I agree with @Poker Zombie, this is exciting!

That is very encouraging to hear! Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions on how the app can be improved. Lots more features are coming in the next few months (player and table management, sharing live tournaments on the web, remote control, payouts calculator, etc.). I do my best to make the app easy to use and bug free, but I don't always get it right, so it's great to have feedback from people using the app. Thanks!

Will do! I was debating on which major feature to work on next for the new app -- payouts calculator, player and table management, audio and voice alerts, account sign-in which enables remote control and sharing a live tournament on the web or between devices... I think I'll work on player and table management next, but I'm open to suggestions on what's most important to you all who are using the new app.

Thanks, I haven't had time to compare the android and we versions so I will have more comment then. On your list, doing remote control or remote sync would be a game changer.

The only really glaring thing that I have found on the android version (and I just grabbed whatever was in the Play store yesterday, so perhaps I am on the wrong version) is I can't find sounds for end of the timer.

I don’t think he has added that function yet. If you’ve ever used the existing iOS app, he has all of those items included, and they are gradually being added to this multi-platform beta version. If you already like it, you are really, really going to like it as the additional features begin to be added.

Yep, @Tonysquander has it right. Over the next few months, all the features from our iOS "Texas Holdem Poker Timer" app will be added to this new multiplatform "PokerClubHQ" app, with some new features for poker clubs and leagues like tracking player stats across tournaments and seasons, etc..

Ah got it. Well I will keep watching the thread for news.

That said, could there be a near term update to put some sound at the end of the countdown, right now it just passes one level to the next without a noise?
