No more auctions (5 Viewers)

I have seen the cancellation or change of bids in many auctions. Please people!!! If you are going to bid in an Auction you should honor your bid.

This just looks like a case of a "participation bid" gone wrong, which is why I hate those stupid bids. Make a real bid, or step away from the keyboard. It's all fun and games until all of a sudden you're on the hook for a couple grand, then suddenly the remorse kicks in.

I just want to add that I think it would be great too if you guys all lowered the prices of everything about 75% so that I can actually afford to buy something that would be greaaaat.... thanks....

Hey buddy, this thread is for Simpsons quotes only. Take your other references elsewhere!

I don’t disagree with that, either. Obviously I know very little, but it seemed like maybe it was more about how the communication went rather than just the slight delay in shipping.

And no there’s no pitchforks, but there are some undertones in David’s post which I thought deserved a little more explanation into why the retraction may have been made.
Not sure what you mean by undertones I was answering a question and I stated facts

It was just stressing the “HONOR” which could be read as calling the person who edited his bid dishonorable. Which is understandable, just wanted to point out that there might be more to that particular situation.

That was something for Mel but ok. Problem is when anyone posts here everyone tries to analyze and oft times misinterprets what is said.

Very true. And I agree, I’m not trying to tell you what you meant. Just thought the info I added would be helpful in case someone read it a certain way.

You are correct. There were some underlying circumstances in that as well but since I did not know exactly what happened I stuck with what I knew to be true.

I don't know about you, but I don't go around pretending to mess around with my friends' quarter-million dollar deals. Maybe you do. Maybe that's just "chipper-bro" lulz for you. If so, we'll just have to agree to disagree, because that's not how I treat friends, or anyone in this community.
i don't know im still relatively knew to this whole nagb thing. still cant wrap my mind around how a chipping community was so fun and close (ex CT ) turned into a complete joke when it came to these nagbs and now the reselling of these chips for 10x-15x the original price.

#2- that says quarter million dollar DEALS which meant not 1 but multiples. 250,000 is a lot of chips im assuming most chips from gpi are near $1 piece would've meant 250k chips possibly 500-1million chips being populated in the community eventually given the nagb chips currently ava(although at a $ rate which is just plain stupid

#3 please please let me in on the gb next time so i can order 10k chips keep 2k of them and also make around 50-60k to pay off my house.

my goodness and whoever chipblocked this nagb you ought to be lucky i wasnt in it or youd have me at your doorstep with some not so kind words!

#4 question when you contact gpi you must state casino location to even get them to contact you now. was this always that way pior or was it a way to screen out pcfers who was trying hard to make a quick one?

the new nagb chips are awesome but if you were going to do it. why not buy couple hundred thousand to resell????? i just want the opportunity to get my BCC chips again LOL. selling all my old ones on ct wasnt smart LOL..

I sell both at auction and on the classifieds, most of the time I’ll put stuff up for sale and if it doesn’t sell in a week or so, it goes to auction. If the chips don’t fly off the shelf the first day, it’s a bit to much annoying work to “bump” it every day hoping someone new sees it. Auction it’s almost guaranteed gone.

I get it... some chippers be greedy, but auctions also serves another good purpose, a lot of normal sales go by “dibs” and around here... basically the first person to see a rare rack is going to swoop it up... at least with auctions multiple interested people have a shot at it.

Despite what you might think, there are plenty of chippers on eBay that probably aren’t here, maybe not for $1000+ sets, but for racks and etc. eBay probably maximizes more than here, because everyone here finds about about the eBay sale anyways, so it just ads to the buyer pool.

I vote keep auctions, it really helps move chips for us normal, non greedy purchasers of every random mold ever stamped clay solid gambling chip ever stamped.

Check out my cool H-molds that are selling now at a fair, reasonable uninflated price!

I only read the first page, didn’t realize it was 11 pages of drama regarding NAGB.

This Chipping game is rough man. I’ve been around a while, but I was on the outs for a big chunk of time after CT. When I first came back the NAGB drama was still pretty hot. There were some casualties in the game regarding all this drama. Anyone hear from PUGGY lately?

At first I was sad about what the boat chips seemed to do to the community... then I quickly came to my senses, I just didn’t care.

I realized pretty quick, I’ll just never buy any boat chips... they are kinda cool, but expensive as all hell. Then ..after realizing I don’t even want them, I moved on with my life, and built some bitchin sets!

In regards to auction collusion as brought up in the thread... I list my chips at the lowest price I’m willing to sell for, if an auctioneer is sad that the price didn’t get ran up they should have started higher.

Wow this has been going for a while now...

You just seem to have no idea what game is being played.

Life is not fair - Never has been. There winners and losers. I don't hear the neanderthals seeking fairness... because they lost the life and death struggle to survive and overcome to be the top species and were totally wiped out. The species that won is you. It wasn't a fair fight.

You just need more money to compete in the fight that's not fair. That is all in your court. You have the power to change your financial status. You are the only person who can help you change the game in your favor.

Why aren't you?
