We are in early levels of a deep stacked single table tournament. Low stakes home game but the field is skilled. 9 players are in, tournament pays 3. Stacks are all between 120bb and 210bb or so. We are in 2nd with 190bb.

Blinds 200/400.
Folds to hero in MP (stack of 75000) and we look down at
[redacted as to not spoil a different strategy thread]

Folds to hero in MP (stack of 75000) and we look down at :6c: :8c:. Action?

If you're going to play it, limp in or raise your standard open. Either is fine.

Personally, I like to mix it up. What you do here just depends on your strategy. Do you want to narrow the field to one opponent and hope to win the pot with a standard c-bet regardless of the flop? Or do you want to encourage others to enter the pot cheaply, and build a pot post flop when you flop strongly with the preflop assumption that you will fold to a single bet when you miss?

All this assumes raising pre will thin the field.... which when you're this deep is less likely. If you're going to get 3 callers regardless, you might as well limp and assess once the flop hits the board.

Raise or fold, don't call. If you get raised 3 bet if you have a position, fold or call if you don't.

Hero targets his preflop opens at the blinds by either taking down the pot pre with no resistance, or enticing them with pot odds to commit more chips OOP with a weaker range. Hero is not savvy nor sober enough to get fancy with a mixed strategy, so opens entire range at just under 2.5x. Hero uses 900 at the 200/400 level from most positions (including MP).

So far we’ve got 2 votes each raise v fold [redacted]
