Hello from KC. I'm like most here, looking to talk poker chips. I had some custom chips made back in 2004, when I had my baseball card shop. I was playing a lot online & ran weekly tournaments in my shop. A few pics of the chips I had made are listed below. I think I bought 1000 chips of all denominations from $0.25 to $10,000. Kansas City Poker Club w a KC Chiefs logo was the design I used. Also had some made for my shop, Dugout Sports Cards. I'll have to dig some of those out to share a pic. Both are on the cheaper type of chips that were common back then.
Went to Vegas around the same time & visited the Gambler's General Store. Bought some Paulson's: Black Viva Las Vegas $100 (20), White $1 Starburst (80), Red $5 Starburst (140) & Green Starburst (80). I'm thinking about selling this set of Paulson's to upgrade a new set. Would love some advise on value. Pic below of them.
I host a bi-monthly poker tourney. Our first session had 10-20 players. Buy-In was between $50-$80. 10 tourneys, with 60% going towards prize money to enter the WSOP Milly Maker & 40% going towards 1st-3rd place. We were able to send 3 runners to Vegas for the $1,500 buy-in tourney. One of our boys cashed for $4038, which he kept 50% & the rest was split among the rest of us.
Anyway, thanks for allowing me to be part of your group. Look forward to reviewing everyone's chips & recommendations on company & type of chips best fit my needs.
So this year I want to up my game, with a new chip purchase!
