Hello,

Found this forum as many probably have by watching some youtube videos. I recently got a craps table, and while I thought I was satisfied with the poker chip set I bought back around 2004, I discovered that I wasn't. I'm on the hunt for a new chip set, and want to learn more about what is out there.

Welcome aboard! Let’s see some pics of the craps table! No probably finding chips here. The choices are endless!

Welcome to PCF! Read lots! Ask if unclear! And enjoy the rabbit hole even more!!

Welcome! This forum is awesome for checking out different chip options!

I ordered some samples from Apache and casino supplies. After watching a bunch of YouTube videos on the subject, I am leaning away from the metal slugged chips and towards clays. Which clays I end up with is the question. I’ve got samples of majestically and dunes on the way, but then I started looking at the Bud Jones intercontinental chips. Here is a couple pics of my table. It’s a craps coffee table, 6ft long and 17” high.

Welcome. That table is awesome. Plenty of good advice available on the forum. A dab of patience is really helpful when looking for chips.

Welcome to the forum.

I'm much more of a craps fan than poker fan, but love the chips none the less.

I think the sample set price was skewed by the cost of some of the really rare chips. Check the previous sales by the same vendor to get an idea of costs.

Well I’m definitely interested. I feel chips actually get more overall use than in poker. Bets are constantly being placed, won, and lost, and a person usually ends up using at least 3 denominations at a time. I also feel I go through my entire stack multiple times depending on the win/lose streak. In poker, most just stay stacked up.

So how does this chip purchase thing work? Where does one buy them at? Those prices would be in my price range, but from reading the threads I couldn’t quite figure out how the whole process works.

So, quick and dirty is that he sets up a sales thread in his folder, or he may just use the same 'save your money' and it will have each chip listed with a big picture, if you look at the previos sales threads you can see these. Below each will have a link to adding them to your paypal cart, again, you can check this out at the older sales threads. You click on the link, the chips go into your cart, you change the number to the number of chips you want and you check out.

Some of the chips will have limits like x% of your order max.

Some will sell out almost immediately The chips there are less of and people want a lot. When he sold the samples they sold out in I think ~2 minutes.

If you aren't familiar with Paulsons or other high quality clays check out this thread:

You will get an idea of how chips differ. Don't be afraid to get a sample set of ceramics and of other kinds of chips like china clays or even plastics like Matsui/Abiata. I use ceramics for playing craps because I wanted to have a ton of them, the denominations didn't work out for what I wanted for poker sets, and I knew I was the only one that cared. For poker my sets are ceramics, paulsons and matsuis for different reasons.
