I'm currently a college student and have a good group of guys that play hold em. We only ever play micro-stakes .05/.10 NL. We've been playing on walmart chips and are looking to upgrade! I've done some research and know that I want to invest in some ceramics. Just looking for any suggestions/tips regarding micro-stakes sets as well as the compostion of those sets! Looking forward to being a regular on this forum.

The "best" suggestion may be to join a group buy and have a custom designed set.

I might be alone in this, but for a .05/.10 set for nine players, I would suggest:
200X $.05
200X $.25
200X $1
100X $5
some $25
This set can easily handle .05/.05 up to .25/.50 with no problems. There will be lots of chips on the table, and everyone (or at least the guy who designed them) will love it.

I think the general consensus here is more like:
100X $.05
100X $.25
200X $1
300X $5
100X $25
This set feels stretched to me for .05/.05 to .50/.50, but can easily handle .50/1.00 up to 1/2 (with some more $25s, maybe)

if you have time wait for the next ceramic custom group buy. if you can't wait there isn't a lot of 5 cent sets out there. a semi custom set from br pro, a cheaper option would be majestics from apache that has a5 cent.

Wow thank u so much for all of the help! The first set you described is practically just what I'm looking for! I'll check out the group buys!
