In our League tourney last night I had 5 pocket pairs in the first 11 hands. I flopped sets with three of them. I got paid off on all of them. Two were vs the same opponent who really over values top pairs. I took half his stack with the first flopped set on the third hand of the tourney and the rest of his stack on the second orbit lol. Overall I had 9 pocket pairs with 4 flopped sets.

Starting stacks were 2k. Before the first break my stack was 5700 and the chip leader. Somehow I still found a way to finish 15th out of 20 players. I guess it had a lot to do with these two situations, second nut flush and pocket K's losing to an all in call with A/10 pre flop and he flopped an ace.

Anyways, I thought it was interesting with all the flopped the sets early and thought it was worthy to share.

@mike32 was the host. As expected it was a great time. Thank you sir.

Grats!

Remember this session when you have the other side of it. Four hours with nothing better than J4o then when you finally do get pocket aces, they get cracked by that guy who always plays 85s since it is his favorite hand. Busting out first in the tournament then dusting off five buy-ins in the cash game. You feel like a god when running good and want to quit poker forever after one of "those" sessions.

I hear you sir. I've been there. I was just surprised that I kept flopping sets. Especially three times in 11 hands. I raised pre with my pocket eights. Then flopped bottom set and got paid off. It was a good feeling, lol.

Now I'm just waiting to hear from @ChaosRock rock to see if he is hosting a game next weekend. If not I'll have to wait three weeks before playing.

Its fun when the poker gods hit you over the head with hand after hand! Did you get any "holy crap he's hitting cards tonight" respect later on?

Right before the first break I fired four bluff bets towards one of our pretty good players. He tanked for a bit on the river bet, but ended up folding. After that it was all down hill lol.
