I am designing two MSK Plaques and wanted to get the communities input. They are 1,000 and 5,000 denomination and I plan on ordering perhaps 40x1000 and 20x5000.

Any thoughts on their design and or any other input is highly appreciated. Top row has a variety in fonts, and the bottom row is obviously using the same font to stay consistent. I am debating. Kind of like both :)

Hi mate, your best bet is to e-mail MSK to see if thst type of work is possible before getting your heart set on it. might look great on a ceramic plaque, particularly the Teddy KGB as it looks like an oil painting.

bottom left on ceramic. I think GOCC do a 'recessed' plaque. good luck

Looks awesome. Agreed with what @Phantom said, find out with MSK first if you can pull this off. Ceramics are your best bet.

Having samples of Matsui, MSK, and ceramics - I'd stick with MSK for this order (unless you're miserably wealthy, in which case Matsui in a landslide).

I agree, find out if it's possible, but MSK >>>>> ceramics.

Tbh, they don't seem to share a common theme and the design is poor. I'd recommend hiring a designer.

I do appreciate the honesty. Thank you.

This is for a cash game and I don't mind if the plauqes don't share a common theme. Reason being that the $1,000 plauqes will get used most of the time and we will hardly ever use the $5,000 plaques. Maybe once every few months, if the game warrants it.

You have a cash game that can support a $5000 plaque, and you're gonna cheap out on the cost of good design?

Believe bit or not, that's not how these games work. They used to use plastic chips. Now we use a clay set that the host bought for $400...for the whole set!

@kk405 Could I ask what chips your are planning these plaques for?

I just emailed MSK to see if they can do this design. I used their template. the $1,000 plaque is the 107x75mm size and the $5,000 will be the 118x82mm size.

What is the buy in in this game? What are the blinds? All NLHE, or other games?

This may be the highest stakes game on PCF.

It's a 5/10 game that plays like a 10/25. Buy-in is $2K, but players can top-off and match the biggest stack at the table at anytime, which several players do throughout the night. By the end of the night there is enough chips on the table to warrant the Plaque denominations (y)

I would think that a game like this would be worth investing a few hundred for professional design of a whole set, and a thousand or more to get a set of custom chips for security purposes. I'm about to spend $175 for a rack of $0.05 chips.

I meant what are the chips these plaques will be on the table with. Surely it makes sense to have them match?

Ah...sorry... We use the Monte Carlo Clay chips... $5/$25/$100/$1000 denominations. The $1000 denominations have been replaced with some other chips due to the color scheme being very close to the $5 chip :(

well if you made plaques using MSK's standard white mother of pearl background and use one of their flashy confetti foils for the perimeter you could get some pretty hot plaques that would go with that set perfectly. just my 2¢

why not just get some more 500 chips for the set you have, skip the 1k chips, and use a barrel of $5k chips?

You guys better be good friends. those chips are easy to purchase. It wouldn't take much to be sneaking in $100 or $500 chips that only cost .20 each.

They're even cheaper than I thought. Any one of your players can spend $3.95 and get a sleeve of 25 of any denomination. Just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it isn't coming.

And I'd skip MSK and go straight to Matsui. Money is obviously not an object in your group. Be the first one to bring in style and class.

I played in a game with probably $20 k on the table with dice chip plaques for $100 and $500.

Here's a pic of Guinness' stack from that night.

I think Guinness cased out over $9k that night. It was a 1/2 game.

This is an extremely tight-knit and close group of people who know each other really well. There has never been an issue and although one can never say it won't ever happen in the future, obviously no one really needs the money badly enough to sneak-in a few hundred dollar chips. And there are very few 1K and rarely 5K chips in play, so everyone knows/sees who has the higher denom chips.

I guess using the $500 chips is an idea. But I thought it would just be a lot cooler to have plaques in the game. Just for the fun of it, as no one is complaining about the current chips. Currently we use two different kinds of yellow 1K and pink 5K chips, which absolutely do not match the MC chips. Again, I thought it would be just cool to have a few plaques on the table and I really don't like the plastic or generic plaques being sold. I suppose I even considered buying the MSK chips from Apache Poker, but don't like the size. The 1K and 5K are too small.

I don't really want to spend $1500 on these plaques, but don't mind spending $500, hence the MSK plaques.

$40,000 on the table, and they use 16-cent plastic slugged chips and MSK plaques.

Why do I get there feeling were being trolled?

Why would anyone spend hours designing plaques using AI and post it in a chip/poker forum as a troll? If I were trolling, I would spend my time on a pron forum, not here!!!

After having read a lot of posts on this site for a few months, I do realize how serious and proud you guys are about your custom chip sets. Honestly, If I were th host of the game, I would do the same too. I am just trying to add a little fun to the game, yet not willing to spend $2000 on Matsui plaques.

I'm confused. Your crew clearly has disposable income. These kinds of stakes are pretty high by most standards. I would think spending 2 buy ins to have a really nice custom setup would be pocket change in this game.

Yes and Yes. But no one sees the need for it and everyone is happy with status quo. This is not a super serious poker crew. Just a bunch of friends who enjoy the game, but given their income level, play it at a higher level. Again, it's not about the money. But no one in this group sees the need or has any inclination to spend 2K/3K on a custom chip set. They just don't care enough. I am adding the plaques to the game to add more fun, kind of like a gift to the game.

I get it. Your friends a like the 95% of our member's friends that don't give two shits about the chip they use. But from experience gained by the other 5% be warned. With the $$$ your crew has on the table custom chips, even if just labeled china clays is highly recommended.

Thank you, and I really appreciate the comments, and agree that we will need to switch to custom chips.
