What’s up PCF chippers! just signed up and had to post... I found PCF in my search for a new cash game set. I deal private games and use my own chips, cards and supplies, so I said time to upgrade from slippery plastic Monte Carlo to this beast set purchased from the great vendors I found on this awesome site. Shout out to Chip Cage Jim and Apache chips for the high quality products... here is some pRoN just got all my goodies Monday. Can see the Monte Carlo’s in action in the DBBP and my personal cut card DONKEEY haha thanks for letting me share. I did something weird by mixing JACK Cincinnati chips with the Isle Capris, it was strange at first when they all got mixed up in pots but got kinda cool after while. I really want more Isle 5’s so once I meet my new member requirements would love to make some trades or buy/sell and be a productive member for life! Thanks again

How did you get those Jack $5s and $25s before the sale??
Funny story about that... I ordered and paid for IOC Chips and got a email saying they were shipped then Jim contacted me and said he was so sorry but the inventory wasn’t there for what I ordered, so my options were to cancel my order or wait to get the JACKs because he didn’t have any other chip options. I said no sweat I’ll wait for JACKs, then he contacted me when he got the JACKs and apologized again saying there was a price difference from the IOC and JACKs. He offered to send them right away if I paid the price difference. Gotta love a business that is about solutions and compromise. Jim is a true professional and provides excellent customer service

I hope your clients appreciate the investment & effort you made to elevate the ambience of their privates games @Donkeey69. Now how 'bout some pr0n of splashed pots with the Paulsons...

Job well done and welcome aboard!
Thanks! It’s funny the players all said the chips look cool but they must be cheap because they are so light compared to the Monte Carlos
haha man they have no idea... shinny heavy cheap chips .15 cents or gorgeous light Paulsons $1.50 a chip haha

The number of "poker players" who think that Monte Carlos are high end chips is somewhat disturbing.

Welcome to PCF and this is what my family always say haha they always say the 13.5 g Monte Carlos which is my first set must have cost more than Milano my Second set just due to the weight and colour. They are more impressive when I change a new deck of cards than a rack of chips

welcome!

my OCD is probably going to make me regret asking this, but since you're going to be mixing them anyway, can we see what a couple mixed stacks of the $5s look like?

Congrats on the set upgrade and welcome to the forum
It’s wild man I completely stumbled upon a chip sale and just clicked the link for the IOC chips, it took me to eBay and I paid. Then when I signed up for PCF to be a member I read the new member thread and said hmm did I do something inappropriate? I hope I didn’t or don’t get banned. I think this is awesome place for poker peeps

Travis people that know nothing about chips want heavy chips we all know this, the heavier and flashier the better. I absolutely agree that it is weird how they correlate this with "casino grade" when 98% of casinos (gestimate) do not use slugged plastic chips.

We have all herd the stories or witnessed ourselves people talk about "lighter chips are obviously cheaper" you can try to explain till your blue in the face but why? If they are not chip people and prefer to play with cheapos then let them. If they want to complain that your "expensive" chips are not as good as their buddy Charlie that got his 1000 chips off ebay in a awesome rolling case and they are bad ass... then let them know that playing poker in your game is optional and maybe they should call Charlie up and see if he wants to play!! Lol

We love amazing clay chips around here but at the end of the day poker can be just as much fun with dice chips. It is just a prefrence to use quality and people have the right to play poker with bottle caps if they want...

I have never met any really famous professional poker players but it would be awesome to have a conversation and ask how many say $10k plus poker games they have played in using dice chips or ever lower grade. The movie "Molly's Game" they were hosting $10k plus buy in games at the beginning using dice chips, later in the movie when she opened her card room she says "ordered custom chips" they were Bluff Canyon chips so run of the mill slugged chips with a custom sticker for a 100k buy in game.

I guess the point is real clay is awesome, not necessary, Brie and I are lucky to have come into this community in a Chip collector dense area where nice chips are truly appreciated. But I will say with MC chips you will be "the game to be in" for many places.

We own a set

We have definitely upgraded and will probably sell these at some point for dirt cheap to help someone else starting out. But they do get the job done

Sad to think a massive set like that we would be lucky to get $300 for which will only buy one nice rack of THCs... the price differences in this hobby is proof that we are in fact insane!! Lol

Welcome! I too found this forum after I got into playing NLHE with my local club and wanting to upgrade my old dice chips from freshman year of college (yes, THAT long ago they were around). I got into the NexGen PRO series composite 9 gram (no insert) just as they were being discontinued and love them... I can't afford to get into the high end ones like your JACKs, but I can appreciate a fine piece of art when I see one... NICE!
