I set up a pub game at the Bon Accord. It's still running under new management but many of the original regs have moved on.

I've not played much at all in recent times (young kids) but thinking about setting up a new game in the not so distant future now the younguns are getting a bit more manageable
We’re always looking for players but it’s not exactly high stakes stuff. We do a tourney with a £10 buy in and a £5 bounty. Rebuys are £5 and are unlimited for first hour and a half then it’s a freeze out. Winner usually walks away with around £100 in their tail and worst loser will be £40 down. Starts at 8 and finishes around midnight. Then we’ll do a .25 cash game until someone passes out at the table.
We cut the stakes after some guys were leaving £300 down. Now it’s more about having a laugh and a few beers. Used to smoke cigars but I’ve recently moved in with the girlfriend so that’s not happening anymore...

There are still a lot of good folk at the Bon if you're looking for new players. Not many competent players though :)

Whereabouts are you based in Glasgow?

I've been meaning to speak to the Corinthian to see what their facilities are like these days (I think they have pared their gaming right back though), as it's right next to where I work

I’ve never tried a pub game. Is it points you play for rather than money? I’m is Shawlands. There’s a couple of pub games here but I’ve never tried them. Might give it a go.
I never knew the Corinthian did poker. They’ve chucked all of the casino stuff down into the basement where the nightclub used to be. Think it’s just blackjack and roulette they do.
The Ballroom in Langside hire out poker tables. It’s not too far from me but it shuts at 12. Also my crowd would rather bring a carry out than pay £5 a pint.
Do you get to play much yourself? We play once a month or twice if we’re lucky.

Pub games are all tourney, no cash allowed, if they're playing by Gaming Commission stoopid rules.

The Corinthian looks to mostly do private hire for poker. I was thinking about firing up a new game for work but not sure the interest is there.

My bro in law is down the road from you in Giffnock (not much of a poker player, though!).

I seem to play once every year or two atm but that'll change soon. Need to get my chips in play! :D

Thanks @sparky18 It’s already grown to 1,100 chips in the month or so that I’ve been on here.
This site is good for finding chips but bad for the bank balance  :ROFLMAO:

If you decide to start a game and are looking for players give me a shout. Whereabouts are you based? If you fancy a game some time let me know as we’re sometimes struggling to fill 8 seats.
What sort of chips do you have?

Hello and welcome! Your join date says September, 2017. You joined way before me! I never did an introduction because it never occurred to me. I was too obsessed researching custom chips! I guess it never too late

Thanks. Yeah I joined and never actually used the site. I went to join again in January and it reminded me that I’d already joined.

Are you on fb? I'll get you added to the Glasgow poker groups if you're interested in meeting new players. Your stakes sound good for the majority of the field and some of them are within striking distance of Shawlands I think.

We moved out of Glasgow (alas!) and are now in Ayr. But I tend to be in Glasgow 3 days a week for work.

I have some BTPs (cash and tourney):
