Greetings all!

I'm a recent lurker that is interested in building a custom set of chips. I've been playing in a home game for about seven years. Most years, we play over 50 sessions. During the height of COVID 2020, we went on-line and logged even more!

Recently, one of our members commissioned a Chanman table. I'm going to do my part and work on the chips. I look forward to interacting and hopefully, building a set that my fellow degens will enjoy playing with.

Thanks for the welcome. Does anyone have any recommendations for a designer to help with a custom inlay?

Thanks!

MOAR VA! Welcome, good to hear poker is alive and well in Star City! I am just outside RVA here.

1. Where do you play online, and are you looking for players?

During COVID, our group ran tournaments through Pokerstars' home game function. Money was run through Venmo. We started playing in-person again in late 2020 and haven't been running on-line since.

What's the latest on Richmond's potential casino?

Card room open now that skirts the laws claiming charity tournament (in Midlothian)

ONE casino is going for round 2 in Richmond next vote I think....it narrowly lost the vote in November. Also, Petersburg is pushing to have it there and wants a bill saying that if you vote and lose, you cannot vote again for 5 years. Basically, Pburg is saying if RVA doesnt want it, we do.

Out here in Southwest, Caesars has broken ground in Danville. Hard Rock is building one in Bristol. I'm not optimistic about the long-term effects on their local economies but I'm looking forward to making a poker trip every now and then.

I found it took me a while to be able to look at a label and a chip separately.

For me when I started to browse chips I knew there were chips that I loved, hated, and was meh about. As time went on I've been able to articulate what aspects of chips I like and don't like. This is mostly due to the education from browsing this site. I would suggest you start with the base color, not exact but a ball park. For me red is so polarizing and I dislike red, you should start with the 1 and 5, what base colors you're interested in, then decide on a 20 or a 25 - stakes will play the largest part of this.

We've put this link together for new members, it talks about standards. It also has a link to designers, and much of the baseline information you'll need / want to grow and understand the aspects of customs.

Happy chipping!
