Sitting Out
New to the site, stumbled across it while researching a set of Paulson chips I have. Interested to learn more about them along with all the interesting info on the site.
I have a few racks of Paulson Viva Las Vegas $1, $5, $10, $25, $100 and some matching top-hat mold non-denomination chips. Bought right from the Paulson showroom back in '95. I will grab some photos...Welcome, fellow PNWer! What set do you currently own? Any photos you are willing to share with the community?
Learning some of the lingo! I have 29 barrels of VLVs and I am not yet sure what the others are officially called...
I am not the guilty culprit of owning a "Huge" set of VLV's. That would be none other than Jeff.Welcome to the forum @trob always cool to see someone who already owns chips to find their way here. That is an awesome THC fantasy set you have there! Guessing you use the gold starburst as non denominated fracs (i.e. $.25 or $.50) depending on the game? Even a nice break down, many have gotten away from the $10 chip and went with more $5s to keep the efficiency of split pots high (less denoms means less effort for pot limit or split pot games) but nothing wrong with having a bit more color on the table!!
Best of luck woth your chipping journey sir, if you ever need assistance with the Lingo or any general questions feel free to reach out via PM, it is the mail symbol at the top. Tons of members here more than willing to help in any way we can.
I believe @David O has the large VLV set and would definitely have more info regarding your chips there, definitely top quality for a fantasy line, those are indeed "the good chips!" Lol

@Ben8257 spot on about the starbursts - at the time I got the chips they did not have anything good for fractionals so it was the most reasonable solution at the time.Welcome to the forum @trob always cool to see someone who already owns chips to find their way here. Welcome, now bust em out and host a game!they have never actually been played in a game!!
Time to get a game going!Happy to see some Canadians on the roll call here!! I am originally from Canada and migrated down to the north-west as part of the first tech boom. Sad to see that the chips have marginal value @Jeevansluck they have had quite the journey.
Interesting backstory on the chips - I used to be a very active card player and made frequent trips to Vegas. At one point I decided that I wanted 'real' chips to use and after lots of research came across Paulson as a primary manufacturer for the industry. On one of my trips to Vegas I hopped a cab to the office which at the time was not overly flashy and fairly 'industrial' looking. After spending an inordinate amount of time in their showroom looking at the different chips and trying to figure out what product and quantities I wanted and what was available in stock I left with a fairly heavy box of my new chips to take back with me as carry-on luggage to Canada.
Shortly after my return a few job changes and some moving around with a final destination in the US meant the chips got packed and lived for a fair bit of time in unopened boxes, coupled with a few overseas postings over the years means that they have never actually been played in a game!!

I have learned about all of this too late! Sadly getting ready to be on the move again - the pros and cons of international job postings I have some local friends that I have been pointing at this forum though so perhaps you can get some more interested players!I saw Seattle on here, I just posted on the home game forum for our group. https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/seattle-players-join-our-group.72569/
Let me know if any of you Seattle folks want in!

If another move is coming I am more than happy to look after any and all chips you currently own. They will be well cared for and played with constantly. Otherwise if they stay with you they will get separation anxiety since you just throw them in a box and forget about them. Have you not seen Toy Story 2!I have learned about all of this too late! PS: Good luck with the move and new job.
If the move isn't permanent I am sure there would be members or friends that would hang onto the chips for you. I would probably have a hard time giving them up knowing I would be back. All the best.Hey, Edmonton!! That was where the first home for these chips!!
The move is on and heading overseas in July, I am going to I guess look at probably parting with this set as my weight allowance is limited and I could be gone for a while...
